Fiberglass to hood

  • I mentioned using baking soda and super glue in an earlier post in this thread. While surfing YouTube this evening, I came across this video -

    They test mixing super glue with a variety of different powdered materials. They point out that super glue and baking soda is typically used for filling breaks or gaps with the baking soda added to whatever crack or gap is the candidate for the repair and then adding some super glue. The super glue is added to the baking soda because the two react almost instantaneously without time for any significant mixing. In the comments, one commenter stated that metal filings and super glue can be used to repair breaks in metal brackets used to mount headlights. The video also shows how using different powders can provide some working time to achieve a smooth mixture that can then be worked into the area under repair. If nothing else, the video provides some entertainment while also offering some potentially useful suggestions on coming up with repairs for various situations. Note - As pointed out by some of the commenters, don't mess with stuff like this w/o wearing safety glasses and other protective gear.
