    one example....100,000 steelworkers lost their jobs. So big deal?

    For every 1 steelworker that lost their job....14 people in related industries lost theirs...that extrapolates to almost 1.5 million jobs.


    so figure out what other worker jobs were lost and how many related jobs went with them.....millions of American workers lost jobs. Also lost was all the income going into local economies all around the country. And all the lost income tax money and social security and Medicare tax payments. Depleting those even more.


    the good news....Mexico and China got them....and all the factories....they have our middle class.

    We now have upper lower class and lower upper class....

    When Reagan fired the Air Traffic Controllers, he started the death of unions.

    Without unions, the middle class had no one to protect them.

    You can look at the decline in union membership and it mirrors the decline of middle class income.

    Today, we have (almost) no unions and no middle class.

    Unite or perish.

    Well, we really didn't lose ALL those 1.5 million jobs.... Some of those people went back to school and got degrees and went to work elsewhere. Some went to work at Walmart, some to McDonalds….. Some inevitably stayed unemployed. NAFTA was a lousy deal for the U.S. though for sure.

    that number is just steel mill jobs and related jobs. There were millions more lost. Entire companies disappeared many towns collapsed. Getting a joe Biden Democratic re-education sounds like a real plan to revive the middle class.

    we need to manufacture goods ....manufacturing is what pays the middle class....which we still didn’t get back......you’re either upper lower class or lower upper class based on your income level......stop thinking we have a middle class ...you’re fooling yourself.


    going from your high paying job to a minimum wage job doesn’t exactly sound like a good career move. Especially one that a person would voluntarily take.


    I personally would never work a job that I didn’t have union protection. Unions started because Andrew Carnegie basically wanted slave labor. because paying workers was cutting into his income.


    when trump ran for president he promised to keep manufacturing in this country...unions told their people to vote for Hilary.....that didn’t work out to well.....then when corporate greedy CEOS laid people off and closed factories in favor of overseas labor....they begged trump to save their jobs....


    maybe they shouldn’t have listened to the paid off union leaders.....and never think they aren’t bought and paid for by democrats.....it’s why they sent my union dues to democrats and told us to vote for them.....


    unions were a good thing until they were bought out. Corruption rules.....not workers rights. The union bigwigs want to keep their jobs so they screw the workers to do that.

    maybe this China virus is going to be the major wake up call America needs to bring back our middle class. Trump said he’s working on ways to get the companies to move back here.

    Re-education classes....how many clogged toilets are there in the country?

    how can anyone with a brain think these things are good for us individually or the country or our future is beyond me.


    We need to make everything here we possibly can...just like we did since we became a nation....it worked pretty well all those years.....and then everything changed and we lost our middle class. Corporate greed took over....the companies no longer had respect for and cared for their workers.....


    I worked in maintenance and our owner considered all of us “red ink” because we didn’t actually make The steel....freakin idiot....if we don’t keep the furnaces running and the strip mill running and all the other machines running how are the “black inks” going to make money for you.....and we did make him a multi millionaire ...

    Unions aren’t killing companies .....unions are cutting into profits and bigger bonuses....

    we export only 8 % of the limited manufacturing we do...what happens when it drops to zero and there is nothing to export and we become totally dependent on imported cheap foreign goods.....

    Always loved the steel mills and workers. I didn't work in that industry, just know it was the backbone of the country and the center of all other industries. Steel built this country! I think over time Andrew Carnegie realized his mistakes especially in hiring Henry Frick. Now Frick, he was a frickin idiot! Unions started and rightly so because of how he ran Carnegie's mills. In general and principle I agree we need unions but I also believe some union bosses are just as greedy. Balance is a good thing.

    if I add up the screwing we got from the company and the screwing from the union I would say it’s even....


    BUT.....I still wouldn’t work without one. Or we would be back at the Carnegie era....unions fought and fight for higher wages and better benefits.....the companies would deny that in a heartbeat.....CORPORATE GREED dictates we must worry about our bottom line...not workers or their wages and families or standard of living.. it’s all about US...

    I was a union carpenter in Pittsburgh and surrounding area for 36 years. Good wages and benefits.But today my biggest fear is these idiots who will think the leftist politicians will take care of them are voting.I believe in unions, but my major concern is my 2nd ammendment RIGHT, which is there to protect the citizens of the U.S from a**holes like these democrats,aka-socialists,communists in government.Without modern weapons we cant stand up to them with shotguns and slingshots.THIS IS THE ONLY THING KEEPING US A FREE NATION AND BEING AMERICAN. Without it, you might as well live in china or russia.
