the specialist (internal medicine), believes that my Torran has developed an esophageal stricture from the dental work he had done last month. He has already had full x-rays and a barium scan which was inconclusive at a different vet. At about 3 pm today, he will have an endoscopy, and if a stricture is present, a balloon dilation. He spends the night in intensive care, with techs in the room, and a vet on premise. If all goes well, he comes home tomorrow, and goes back on Monday, for a re-check endoscopy, and possible re-ballooning....
Words cannot describe my feelings........ -

@Slunglow, sorry to hear about Lacey, Brother...
Kim said the vet told her what teeth Lacey has left are shot but her jaw bone is too brittle to risk pulling them. So they shot her up with some antibiotics and sent some home with her. Maybe she will eat when she gets hungry enough, we got our fingers crossed... again. It really sucks watching them get old and helpless.
With any luck she will be able to watch the inauguration... -
Torran update: esophageal stricture- was constricted to 4 mm. Vet ballooned to 8 mm. Normal dog his size 12-15 mm. If he has a good night, he will come home some time today, and go back for another ballooning procedure on Monday....... cautiously optimistic
