too many people being hoodwinked by each side to the extremities of that party. People need to start thinking for themselves instead of believing politicians.

And add a third party so they now have another party to hate. Don't know the answer. 2 parties suck but I imagine so would 3 or 4.

if all parties had an equal opportunity to compete it would help a great deal, but right now the two parties the D's & R's literally own the system and they effectively keep all other parties from having a chance

Did you know the Democrat and Republican parties actually own the Commission on Presidential Debates and that its this commission that determines who is allowed to participate in the debates?

it's not the parties it's the people we elect

We need the following:

1. Term limit 4 years

2. Median income based on US

3. Live in dorm for free with meals provided

4. No golden parachute only 401k match

Maybe then we will get people who care more about the country than a career and enriching themselves

Are you familiar with the check box on the federal tax forms where tax filers can elect to have $3 go to the Presidential election fund?

Did you know that all of that money only goes to the Democrats and Republicans - - none of the other parties have ever gotten any part of that??

another way the D's and R's have rigged the game - - for a third party to ever get a share they have to have gotten over 5% of the total vote in prior presidential election which has never happened because they are not allowed on the debate stage

seriously, if the D's & R's control who gets on the debate stage, and the federal funding is only given to D's & R's how are other parties ever expected to be heard by the voters? - - - on top of this the two major parties push on their followers the idea that voting for a third party is like throwing you vote away

Personally I think if you vote for a D or and R just to win that is throwing you vote away or worse selling out

I would add that there can be no exempting yourself from any laws you might pass - when your terms are up you return to civilian life and must live under the same laws as everyone else

There goes the main difference between Canada and the US and our constitutions. The fact is we should of been fighting this government already based on all the rogue shit they have been pulling on the American people for years now. It literally says the people are their own militia and whenever the government gets out of line we have the power to take it back and reinstate a new government. It has nothing to do with whether i like democrats or republicans. At this point in time they are BOTH compromised and BOTH need a complete rehaul.

I have always wondered why we don't just get rid of the parties and have people run on their merits? I would like to see what and who people could and would vote for given the chance... not just this guy blue or this guy red... Yes, I know there are a bunch of people already on ballots, but they will never get any "media" time to promote their views.

I have always imagined a system where a candidate could say what they really thought was good for all without 50% instantly saying how that was not good.

I know, it will never happen, too many are rooted in the blue/red molds and will never change.

its not a difference between US and Canada, its a difference between thinking irrationally that you will overthrow your government because you don’t like what they are doing, and being practical.

Ha ha, and how many of those did we hear about except for Big Red and Blue??? I can tell you for sure that most if not all of those were not on the Colorado ballot...

This was in 1992. Perot won 18.9% of the popular vote, the highest share of the vote won by a candidate outside of the two major parties since 1912.
