After driving it a couple of days ago. I've decided this car needs to be put back to stock condition. It would be crazy not to. I loved driving it. And I feel like my grandpa was smiling down on me as I took it for a drive down the block. To many of these cars are chopped up and hot rodded and history needs to be saved here. That's of course my opinion. Also found out the local model A club meets just a few blocks away from my house at the local masonic lodge. Since driving it a couple weeks ago I've been seeing alot of restored model A,s. Maybe it's just grandpa's way of pushing me in the right direction. This project is becoming very emotional for me and I am excited, scared, anxious and sleepless over it. Anyway that's it for now will update as I get more into it.

Power washed the radiator and straightened some fins. Can actually see through it. Pressure tested it and it was good. Found out the original color was well i dont know what you call it. It's the same color as the wheels and what was under the Ford badging plate.
great story... Keep it coming. That color is one of my favorites for that model. In my opinion gave it a much higher price feel to that model. Much more upscale if that makes sense.
I had a similar project from my dad after he passed away. At that time I just did not have the time or cash flow to do it justice. It was a MG Midget and wasn't too far away from being great. One day at a garage sale we were having a man offered a good price for the little thing so I let it go. About a year later the guy drives up into my driveway. The midget looked better than it did the day it rolled off the line. I knew my dad was OK and it the little girl lived on. I would imagine it's going to be one to last for the ages. Something to pass down. This is the Jew you have and what you are allowing to happen. Great job! -
Yup... Just following along... Great thread... Don't really add comments because I know nothing about this...
But keep going Chad!

You don't make any comment because you can't use any of the old parts........

It's really coming along...looking good!!

So I ground down both rear and front fenders. No real problems.
-
As you can see in the last photo. I got the rear spare tire carrier. It's missing some type of upper support. So it's not on there very secure but you get the point.
-
I finally got most of the nuts and bolts to put the dash back together. Just missing 2 nuts I will stop at ace hardware tomorrow and get them but it looks great.

Looking great sir!
The angel looking over your shoulder must be very proud! -
Thanks guys appreciate all the support.

Very cool project @chad warren ! Keep up the good work. I will second ( I think I am second ) the idea of an ecotec engine swap. The guys next door to us at the Hot Rod Shop are building a cool old truck with a 2.0 turbo ecotec. Every time they need something for the engine or trans they come over here to raid our parts collection. I respect the idea of keeping it original too though. As always the choice is yours.

Very nice work you are doing Sir ! Cool Project with some personality and dedication for all the right reasons ..

Well I hate to say this but it is the reality of it. I was going to ship my SS down to DDM this winter for the full supercharger treatment. But the wife said if your going to dive into this model A project full speed ahead like she knows I will. I have to wait and put that money towards the model A. Oh well there's always next year.

You're making the right choice.
