I know it can't be just me. I have a lifelong aversion to nonsensical pricing a former significant other used to pay for things made by Gucci, Chanel, Coach, etc.
($3000 for a purse?) Please. A $30 Timex was within two seconds of a Rolex every year.
I got a new email announcement for luggage racks for $700 (free shipping!) from a vendor I have the highest regard for as far as integrity, willingness to negotiate a little better deal, and quality of workmanship of products they market to us. The same money buys a high performance electronically adjustable muffler made of much more expensive material and while not cheap seems like a huge bargain in comparison. As the owner of vin #0262 I started mods well over a year ago and have enjoyed every one of them, especially my exhaust and rear fender.
I spent over 40 years in sales and know all about features and benefits, building value to justify price, etc. but just can't connect the dots for the price of this latest accessory.
Nuff said.

Andy I seen this as well. Had exact same thoughts. You are not alone in this.

I agree 100 %. That is the reason that I built my own. Price and I did not like what was out available.

Ditto!
That means you connected the dots very well @Andy Hatch!
Those were gonna be a "no brainer" for me until they pointed that price gun at my wallet.

Based upon what I've seen you do with sheet metal, I am sure you could do wonders with something similar to this
