About to start working on the beast on the lift

- interesting.... Does it sound good or do you think you'll have tl reinforce the doors with a thicker material? I was unhappy with the way my SSV boxes sounded so I sprayed the inside with the magic black stuff and it sounds much better now. Would imagine it wouldn't sound right with that thin door plastic unless you did something to it?
-
No I don't have doors. I added a 5/16 panel to the front and sealed it with 12 stainless screws and then polyfilled them full. I also lined the inside with dynamat strips to keep the plastic from resonating.
-
I had to realllllllly work hard to get the plastic panel back on that covers the area behind the seats and really stretch and push to get the back deck piece back on.
-
I should have known you def didn't half ass it lol. Pretty cool man. I'm very interested to see how it sounds compared to two 10" w3s.
-
I have had 12" subs in for a long time in the original doors. I had just a little air escaping one of the doors. I just changed the setup because it looks so much better this way.
-
I had two w3 10" in before these. They were fine. They just didn't get low enough. It was plenty loud with 10s though.
-
Very cool. You're going to Maggie right? You aren't too far from there i think.
-
Here is some pictures of the board. It is sealed to the face of the storage boxes using foam door seals. Then holes between all the factory holes are drilled and clips installed. Then the lid is screwed down with stainless allen panheads. As you can see I also drilled holes to pass longer bolts through to hold the back plastic on. It flexed just enough to bend under the back deck and fit above the cup holders.
-
awesome. I want to hear it. What do you have for the rest of your speakers?
-
I really didnt think i was going to get the back panel on. I added the thickness of the speaker panel and the thickness of the screwheads. Its so tight that it may never come back off.

I always have the 12 inch subs. Usually it's either the black forest ham with bacon and cheese, or I get the Italian BMT with double meat. YUM

I bet that is loudd... I'm doing 7.7 inch JL components in the front I had pods made from underground audio where should I put the tweeters? what location did you find is best for placement? I was going to set everything up and have the tweeters unmounted and put some Velcro on the back and stick them in certain places while driving around to see how the Imaging sounds at higher speeds with a lot of wind before mounting them permanently
-
I have them by the gear shift under the radio and in the front pods.
-
ohhh smart idea!!

Here is a little bit better look at the speakers since I cleaned the foam off the backplate. And I also screwed in the top plastic .
