New Jeep Wrangler Truck - test mule!

Yes they did. We have to share the first one with three other sister companies. From bedcovers to bumpers to lift kits.

Yep, I was on that list too. Got an email that the response was too great and I MIGHT expect a call in 2-3 days.
Probably going to pass anyways. When it first was announced, they were touting towing in the ~8500lb range. Now it's 7500 lbs. Gonna be tough with my 8000lb trailer. (And yes, I already have a full size tow vehicle with the 6.2L engine.)

"The first one"?
1) The first (#1) of 4190
2) Your companies first

nope, very unlikely. When you submitted your request it asked for a color. There is no way to know what color will be ran first. Also production did start but for internal corporate customers so even if you did get the firts Launch Edition you still would not have the first production JT.

It would be cool if you receive the first Launch Edition since they are numbered.

Went in and priced out my personal JT. Sport S and the Ribcon version are within $1600 of each other.... Tuff choice to make. Not sure the noted extra "approved" tow rating is worth not having na Rubicon. It can still pull it but I'm not at the max anyway. Just now need to see if holding off the the Diesel would be worth anything?

$1600 I would go Rubicon. You get a lot more and that killer look.
Diesel is always tough for me to justify. They upcharge you for the engine, upcharge you on the fuel. The better fuel economy won't show a return on investment for many, many years. Not to mention that 4 cylinder diesel doesn't improve towing capacity much.

Its a 3.0L v6. The same used in the 1500 Ram. For easy towing (no stress) it would be worth it. I plan to use it to pull the 20' MeanSling trailer to more events in the next few years.
It is hard to justify the cost (ROI) for be diesel for sure.

Turns out cooling as stated by some of you guys is an issue, for the diesel. The diesel will have a lower towing capacity. Sounds like gas is the way to go, unless you want that extra torque for off-roading.

Ruptured Duck is this place close enough to you to make the deal worth it? Just a heads up.

The dealer I work with does us good. He better because in the last year we have purchased 8 Wranglers from them.

So I should go there when the time comes? You can walk me in and get the "deal nod" for me.

Wow.
That is almost the cost of a dually
-
Well... The cost is minor when you compare it to tooling cost. It's an investment to get product to market first. Hard to put a price on that.

No argument there - but I would love to own another dually, it was by far my favorite truck 17 years and 360K
Sold it in running condition / miss it more than most anything I have ever owned
