Odd squealing sound coming from rear on new Roush Slingshot... need help please

Drive belt is dirty.... Jack the rear of the Sling up as safe as possible on level ground. Put the Sling in neutral, take a plastic tire brush or a tooth brush with water and soap. Take your hand and turn the rear tire slowly as you scrub the inside of the belt with the other hand, (where the teeth are on the belt) until you have scrubbed the whole underside of the belt. As you rinse the soap off the belt I would slowly turn the rear wheel again as you rinse the whole belt and rear sprocket. This will stop the squealing for a few hundred miles, then repeat. Just a product of a drive belt drivetrain. Do NOT put belt conditioner on the belt or anything but water and soap for that matter.

.....i was about to say it sounds like a case of "Turn your music up & the sound will go away" but washing that belt helps too.......

Does not sound like the belt or the bearings. Brake pad dragging maybe. VERY VERY carefully touch the rotor after driving down the road a little way. The emergency brake not releasing. If you drive it a few miles down the road the rotor will be discolored and very hot. You will not need to touch to know that it is hot. Been there and done that. Let me know what you find please.

I never washed or adjusted the belt on Sling I in the 104,000 miles. The only water it ever had was rain and one wash job in Huntsville.

Sling II had a belt squeal and the dealer took care of that at about 30,000 miles. It took 3 times to the back at the dealer that day to get rid of it.

A lot of the sounds that the Sling makes seem to get to be less as it is broken in.

My 2020R made that sound and also a loud squealing sound when I would let off the gas. It went away.

They are not a quiet machine at all... Neither my 2019 or 2020 was quiet. A lot of those sounds come from the Angle drive and there is also some belt noise.,I changed the Angle Drive Oil at the first 500 mile check and use the 85w-250 Polairs Gear Oil.. It did quiet it down a bit.

Loosen your belt to 5/8" cold deflection. Just my guess.
