So I know most of us have been caught in the rain while we are riding.....my question is.....what type of rain gear are we using to keep us dry?
Rain Suits

.....been caught in a few major down pours, just rode em out or pulled over somewhere safe hopefully like a gas station to provide you some cover til it stops
-
picked this up for 1/2price from a dealer up here that got rid of their SS dealership. Could not go wrong at that price. Only take it on longer trips. Not daily rides
-
Keep a set of frog toggs in the SS

Frog Toggs

Just make sure that the bottoms is totally water proof, the Frog Togs that I bought were not. When riding in the rain it hits the head rest and runs down to the seat. So you get a wet ass. Yes, I have rode in the rain in Maggie Valley. We put the rain suits on at Joey's Pancake House at 8 AM, I think it was 4 PM when we got back to the Comfort Inn, stopping for gas only. It never stopped raining all day, and I do not mean a sprinkle either. I had on a cheap bottom and a regular rain suit top I never got wet.

Frog Toggs in both boats and the sling.

On a day like that, you'd find me at the local watering hole.
That's the only thing related to water that I'd be near.
-
YEA, we made the full circle around Maggie that day

I second that but my Best half wouldn’t like me too much lmao

Agreed. EVERYONE is brave to ride these reverse trikes in the rain UNTIL they end up in a power slide off the road and total one out. Then even the bravest of the bunch has enough respect for life to take the high road and wait it out safely somewhere

If it rains?...Then I wouldn't ride in my Sling?!

Standing water is the problem, even when you have the nanny's cut off. "DO NOT RIDE ON THE WET WITH THE NANNIE"S ON" Yes, I did finally spin out while coming home from Maggie in 2021. That was with over 100,000 miles of riding with a good bit riding on the wet roads. I lost control on the same overpass in a monsoon twice. I might have been running 25 mph the first time, maybe 5 mph the second time. Terry was in front and did not have a problem, the only difference was he had a 305 Lexini on the back and I had the stock size Riken on my Sling.
-
When cars spin out in the rain....I don't like it!!!....When my Sling spins in the sun!....I like it!!!!
-
Isn’t a rain suit a CONDOM BAHAHAHAHA
-
Don't understand those that are afraid to ride in the rain. I've ridden mc's for 5 years and many many in down pours. Just use COMMON SENSE PEOPLE!
-
Just don’t ride in the rain at all, unless it is Saturday. You know what I mean.
JUST SAYIN

It's just zero fun.
"I can't wait until Saturday's big rainstorm to ride around in my Slingshot!" said....nobody...ever!
-
I don't like riding in wind or rain. But if your out and rain does happen, just dawn the rains units. No biggey...

That works if you are riding from one daily, but not it you are on a multi day trip and not much choice.
