Pretty interesting to see the ratio of mods sold on the 15/16 vs. 17+. On the pedal commander across all sales this month.. the ratio is exactly a 50 / 50 split for an even number of units for both variations. I find that interesting as mod sales usually lean towards the newer models.

Hey Guys.. I'm working with my team now to create a group buy coupon. I will post it here shortly and you will be able to use it at checkout to get the group buy price. You'll also be able to select your year application at the time of purchase. Stay tuned....

Hey Guys.. what we could do for the group buy price is just post a coupon code here that's valid until the end of October.. that way everyone has a few weeks to purchase at the special price. Whatever you guys prefer. It'd probably be easier than PM'ing each individual. Let me know and I'll get the code created. FYI: We're almost out of batch two with 35 units left.. more on order. Thanks!

Of course. I will do my best to please the rest. if it's here before Saturday I will get a good chance to run it this weekend. I will ask the crowd, where should I install the head unit for best protection from water. I get caught in rain plenty. Good ol Arkansas weather, 4 seasons in a day

Shipment is on the way. I sent it 2-day air and is expected for delivery by end of day on Friday for possible weekend testing! Thank you.

I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE. HAHA I’m interested to buy it at group buy price and review it. If I’m late on the message then I’ll join group buy. I’m interested to see what this can offer over pedal max. Test drove the pedal max in eureka springs. Maybe it was wet roads but I couldn’t talk myself into buying it.

Okay folks.. since MADDMOE can not test at this time.. the other volunteer was Jdymag132

I'm sending a PM shortly to Jdymag132 with a coupon to redeem at the group buy price. Please reply with your order# and shirt size so i can throw one in for being our forum test subject. Lol. Also, so i can expedite the shipment!

Soooo... I'm trying to find a reason to talk myself out of this group buy. But on the other side of that thought I have a question for those that may know. I see the two different options are 15-16 and 17+ as are most things for the slingshot. Where does the 16.5 fall into that? I watched the video and obvious difference is older models plug up on the left side of the pedal downward and newer models plug up on the right side upward if I'm not mistaken. I haven't had a chance to see which way mine plugs up yet so figured I'd see here which side of that fence the 16.5 falls on?

Hello Wicked, the 16.5 is the same pedal config as the 15-16. We actually have a white 16.5 that we verified the map on.

    Lol.. you guys are funny.

    To answer a few questions:

    1. The gas pedal lag is completely eliminated and no it doesn't increase the bog that initially comes from the air intake when you mash the throttle without it. So much so that in the Sport+ (+2 or higher) it's actually too responsive. Just as a short throw shifter does not add power I have to think it would slightly increase 0-60 times by just removing lag time. It honestly feels way quicker oddly. It's a strange thing that I was honestly quite skeptical about until about 100 ft from the shop. 10 seconds with this thing and all of your fears will be set to rest.

    2. I know the waterproof element kinda blows, but you'll honestly be messing with it for the first few drives and then know what your favorite settings are. The device stores your last setting, so it can be tucked to a hidden location under the dash once your hot spot is found if you plan on driving in the rain. I honestly don't use the app.. cuz it's not something that you'll really mess with once your favorite setting is found.

    3. The advantage in my opinion in having a push button controller over an analog knob is so that you know what your fav setting is instantly. ex. I love Sport+ (+1).. so i don't have to fiddle around with a dial to find my desired position. I just click the button. Another example of this would be your "seat" setting in your car. Some cars have "memory 1" or "memory 2", so that when the car wash guy moves the seat 8" from the wheel you're not fiddling with the controls for 10 minutes to find the sweet spot.. you simply click the button you already programmed.

    3. You don't love it. Return it within 30 days of purchase.

    4. A good example of how the gas pedal will respond is if you're parked on the side of the road in neutral and press the gas pedal to 3k rpm and click the dial up (+1) you'll instantly see the slingshot jump to 3,200 rpm, (+2) 3,400 rpm, etc.. These are examples of the logic.. not the actual results.

    4. I wouldn't mind having a single forum member buy at the group buy price to give feedback to the rest of the forum to provide another perspective.. It will either make the group buy a "no brainer" or completely "tank it". We're okay either way.. we're simply the conduit that offers these deals to give Slingshot owners the opportunity to mod with additional saving wherever possible.

    5. The group buy will remain open until the 20 is hit. No time frame here unless the mfg increases our cost for some reason.

P.S. On another note.. it's important to make sure the slingshot "ignition" is off when installing.. Preferably disconnect the negative battery terminal. If you do not have the Slingshot ignition off.. it will throw a "check engine" light. You'll have to either disconnect the neg terminal to fix this or go through the engine startup sequence 3 or 4 times until the error clears.

slingmods Any information for groupbuy pricing?

Hello Orange, I would need to buy a special "group buy" approved batch from the MFG at special pricing on my end as well to be able to offer this level of savings. Please understand that this pricing can only be obtained if this batch # is met. I do have a little wiggle room on an individual basis if the batch is not met.. so we can get people modding for a cheap as possible. Thanks!

    Group Buy Pricing
    20+ Units $225/each

The list would need to built here and then i would PM the coupon to each individual member that's interested.

    Thank you!

I'm not interested either way, I love the way my sling performs.

I might have considered if one of the other performance nuts (like me) had gotten one and given a review, and even tried to get a demo unit sent out, but that idea was rejected.

That would have been their biggest seller, if someone like Rab got one and raved about it.

Can't argue with that Wokka. So you understand from our point of view.. We've been burned too many times on promised reviews for free product.. so I must apologize in advance for my reluctance to do so again.

….that is true BUT theres nothing like a review from a slingshot owner, comes on guys who has it and what do you think about it, good or bad...…..

Ahem.. are you saying we're not Slingshot owners? Lol. We actually have 4.. haha. We tested it on two NA motors, 1 DDM Turbo and 1 DDM SuperCharger. Our first batch of 100 units has already been sold.. however we have another batch arriving on Monday morning. I presume the majority of the sales and presales are not forum members unfortunately. Our review request e-mail is automatically sent out 30 days from the recorded shipping date asking the customer to share their review and insight. It's been "in stock" for a week or so.. so reviews may trickle in early for manual reviewers but for those that wait for the 30 day review form we're still a few weeks out from seeing those. If you're on the fence about the mod.. i'd encourage you to wait until those reviews are posted so that you can buy with confidence. Again, if you buy and don't like it within 30 days send it back for a refund. no questions asked!

Ah one more thing worth mentioning is that the 36 settings on the commander which consist of 4+, 4- and baselines for four different modes which includes ECO, City, Sport, Sport+ are preset "maps" that are imported as a file to the Pedal Commander itself. Each pedal commander unit has a unique serial# on it so if for any reason we launched a more/less aggressive MAP file or for some reason had an issue with the MAP on the Pedal Commander. The MFG Tech Support can actually fix the problem remotely since the system is supported via bluetooth and allows them to send you a new map file than can be updated without having to return the unit. Pretty crazy.. so basically remote diagnostics. Hopefully that never needs to be used.. but we thought that was a pretty nutty feature.

Thanks for giving feedback on it, a lot of us have been sceptical on it's real effectiveness vs just slamming the throttle down fast.

Would you be up to doing a demo unit to someone like rabtech or Dave@DDMWorks for a review? If I'm speaking out of turn guys, feel free to slap me around.

Hello Wokka, we were honestly huge skeptics ourselves as we've never used a throttle response controller on any vehicle. The difference is insane. I was also of the mind set that smashing down the throttle would achieve the same results but it simply does not. It turns the sling into a different beast. The best analogy i could give is the DDM short shifter. While it's not adding any actual power.. it reduces the time to bang through gears which makes it quicker to get from point A to B and is a lot funner doing so. I guess you could also reference increasing the sensitivity of a trigger on a weapon to your personal preference. One could argue it's no different than smashing the trigger.. but the sensitivity can be tuned to each user making it a very personal and invigorating experience. Every other performance mod is what it is. They're not adjustable to this level if at all. If you wanna snappy response.. simply turn the dial to Sport+, you wanna that sweet spot for throttle response while hitting canyons hit Sport, etc.

We've already sold out most of the first batch so i expect we should see a good number of product reviews roll into the site in the next month or so. Until we build up Slingshot reviews on this product itself, i'd recommend a google search on "Pedal Commander Reviews".. you'll find a ton of threads for other vehicles such as Vettes, Stangs, etc. with people dropping their jaws on how much funner it makes the vehicle to drive. There's also a bunch of youtube videos showcasing this.

We'll also be doing a video installation of the product as well as going over all the features such as modes and bluetooth control in the upcoming weeks. We're moving into a larger film studio this week and next so our video schedule is a bit behind. We're going to try and capture just how responsive you can make the gas pedal with and without the pedal commander installed in the video to showcase the difference. Stay tuned...

P.S. If you personally decide to get one, please contact our customer service team and ask for Chris and we'll set ya up with a nice discount. If you don't absolutely love it, send it back for a refund! Thanks! :)

This looks like another alternative to the PedalMax but with slightly better features and about the same price. Everyone that owns the Pedalmax loves it so far. I am about to order one of the two.

Hello Orange, let us know if we can assist you on the pedal commander. 30 Day Money Back Guarantee on this beast. If you don't love it, send it on back for a full refund. One of my personal favorite mods to date!
