Or insurance companies go belly up or drop coverage on LOTS of folks - exactly what they did in Louisiana following Rita & Ike hurricanes !!

There was one large insurance company that lead the pack about not wanting to pay the policy's after Catrina and also dropping insurance policy's. They us to do a lot of TV comercials. Something about you being in good hands wasn't it.

Got mine in Feb 2015...55,000 miles and loving it more every day...

I live in a community of about 25,000 and have somebody asking question every time I'm out --- which is almost daily.

Enjoy and welcome to the World of Slingshot Insanity.

Well you finally passed me on the mileage. Only because mine has been broke since 7 - 28 - 2017. :D

I can actually say that I have not missed a downshift this bad before in the Slingshot. I was passing a Honda trike of all things. I let out on the clutch and the rear tire literally hopped. It didnt even act like it was the wrong gear. It just went right into 2nd with no effort. And what spooked me the most is that it made a metal on metal bang. I pushed the clutch back in super quick before the engine revved up to far. I was expecting the final drive to have a crack in it when I got stopped. So far it seems like the bang noise was the drive belt jumping a tooth on the sprocket. I drove it another 10 miles and ran through all the gears and spun the rear tire in the first 4 gears. It didn't pop or make any weird noises. So i guess it didnt hurt anything. Hopefully i got lucky...

Anybody else ever hit the wrong slot before?

And @Tripod im talking about the transmission gear slot. So no "wrong slot" memes..... :D:D

Yea, it tried to jump sideways before I got the clutch pushed in. Did not make any noises though. You just do not want to do that while you are on the twisties.

I have one of the original UP tops which is the Fab Factory now and I would not trade it for anything other than the Mean Sling top.

I live on the South Carolina coast. I have been in the sun all of my life and riding bikes since May, 1964. I have been fighting skin cancer since 1982. I have been burnt, cut, frozen, and electrocuted to get rid of said skin cancers, also in the process I basically had two face lifts. So enjoy the sun, for you will pay for it later. GOOD LUCK

I like that, even if you can not tell the difference.

I was a kid in Mobile when Camille hit. Our house was the highest in our addition. Probably 850-900 square feet. We had 4 families crammed in. The water reached the top edge of our porch but didn't go over. The neighbors had at least a foot of water in their house. All us kids had thought it was a great time but our parents weren't too happy about it.

I have been thru all of them right here since 1947. This same house since about 1988.

Fast forward to 1977, high school parking lot. My 1969 Chevelle SS. When I bought it for $800, the 396 was already blown and it had a Corvette 327 in it. Wish I still had this one. There's your bell bottoms - and earth shoes!

1968 Chevelle SS Conv. 396 with 4 speed sitting in the play room at this time. It has been here 20 plus years.

Interested look me up.. FAST RED!

How about me , If I ever get my Slingshot back. Mine is red!

Praying for the best but prepared for the worst.

    STAY SAFE EVERYONE!!!!

thanks for answering my call @rabtech ;(

Georgetown, S.C. I will be here at home until it is over unless it is a Cat 5 then I will move about 10 miles inland. If I need to get back no problem I can walk or swim.

Well, whatever Irma does, I decided to hunker down and ride it out. As long as my house does not blow away I should be ok. Got the generator ready. Have water and 50+ gallons of gas. Probably gonna go pick up a fresh keg for the kegerator as well!

All of my vehicles have full coverage and all the contents of my house are insured for $250k. I owe less than $25k on my house. It's now worth over 3.5 times what I paid for it in 2011 when the market was rock bottom. Hmmmm maybe Irma is not gonna be that bad after all... 4 totalled vehicles, everything inside my house gone, house destroyed....CHA-CHING!!! :00000019:

Sounds like early retirement to me.

I stopped going there when they "up-graded" the ads- having them appear was bad- having loud audio with them- interminable!

I do not post over there SINCE I HAD THE RUN IN WITH THE HOG. I am going over to find another Slingshot, to see what is for sale over there.
