Yeah...but I thought they were targeted more for brake cooling than "Dust Busting" on the rear. I'll have to take another look at his set-up. Thanks!!
I will post some pics of my front deflectors as I mounted when I get some.

@roadog1aj your idea carries a lot of merit. You should follow through with it and report back.
As @FunCycle mentioned I am currently running deflectors on the front and rear. The front deflectors are the one that @gearhead brought to us here. I did however mount mine differently to pick up more air. This was to provide cooling to the front brakes but the side benefit was it kept the front wheel barrels clean of almost all dust. Anyone who has seen my Sling knows that my front wheels are 10.5” wide. Because of how well it worked on the front wheels I did a quick prototype on the rear, the prototype worked! I did show the prototype deflector to several people in Maggie with positive responses.
The plan is to build a deflector with even more air flow and test. If I can get this as a simple bolt on application that is functional I believe many would like to have one. I just ordered material yesterday with hopes on have a working deflector on my SlingShot in a couple of weeks(have heard that before).
Engine oil and change intervals seem somewhat a personal preference. Most engine oils are far superior than oils we used in our first vehicles.
Transmission interval for most would be to follow the manual, but more often would never be a detriment except to your pocketbook.
The angle drive is another story altogether. Anyone who has drained the oil from the drive once or even twice, inspected the oil would not leave the oil in for 50k. You certainly wouldn’t it back in to see if you can get 50k out of it. Almost everyone who has changed the oil had a noticeable change in the sound level emitted from the drive. One should consider changing the oil just to see the condition of the oil and it’s particulates. How often would one do this should be based on the findings you would find in your own case. I think the most crucial part of the angle drive oil change is getting oil level to the minimum fill. I have had great success with using 100% Lucas Oil Stabilizer and continue to increase the intervals mileage as the angle drive is worn in and gears are seated.
Someone film this!
yep.... leaving Friday and heading West. No plan, no room reservations, no schedule, no other riders..... just Kay on her Harley and me in the Sling. Who could ask for anything better than that!
No problem, no worries, ride on, enjoy!
@Bu11sh1t the gremlin bell is far to nice to hang on my SlingShot! So when I arrived home I paid it forward to my bride. I told her it was a money bell and she should place it on the nightstand, use it to signal lucky times. To me that is like money in the bank!
Seriously this bell is made from money, a 1972 Dollar Coin and a Craftman combination wrench! It is a piece of art! The painted rock in the picture was recieved from a fellow Slinger whose wife did the painting, I am at lost of your name but Thank you all the same!
Wow @funinthesun , when I saw you with a brace on I thought you had a relapse, didn’t know you did a face plant. It was great the trip happened after the past year and I was glad to see again, PhilScott
I am worn out, stopped in Bloomington, Illinois for the night. An easy six hours tomorrow to home!
The new fenders hold more water than the old ones, just saying
The lid said six
I did see that but somehow I thought someone said something about 8? I guess I should be happy to have what I got! We all know how good those cookies are.
I feel bad, want to share? I will have two of yours.
Thankyou and everyone that help make me feel appreciated even when I was not able to make the luncheon. The weather certainly looks like it cooperated. Thanks for the six cookies, bottle opener, stein, stickers and friends!
@mniron, you should get a package from @SlingRider from us. Among other things, it has 8 cookies in it. No fewer.
Wish I could had made the luncheon, thanks for the care package, not that there is any mistrust but I will be counting the cookies!
Mowed the yard, spread weed n feed, insecticide, roundup the driveway edge, logged over three hundred miles on the SlingShot, hot(97) and humid day, ready to leave for Maggie in the morning. Should arrive around noon on Monday.
Caught a little shade under the hardwoods after cranking through the
twisties
Hey guys, please help out an old man with a bad memory. I was suppose to meet someone in Maggie Valley who had a pair of the black side panels that they removed when they installed the front fenders from Stickerdick. He was going to bring them to me, and I was going to bring them to GPcustoms. But as always, i forgot who i was suppose to look for. If anyone knows who it was, or if you are he, please let me know and if you're still planing on the trip
Thanks
Fun, stop by the Fender Button tent to pick up the black splash guards. @Neosolidus took his off for @StickerDick fenders, I am bringing them to Maggie for you to finish the relay to @gpcustoms. I just loaded them tonight, leaving in the morning should arrive in Maggie around noon Monday.
Not been in the rain but one time while ridding the slimgshot and I slowed way down, it felt ok but my sling really doesnt like the miles and miles of tar snakes we have here in north carolina and whats sad is the roads with tar snakes are the better roads, we must have the worst roads in the country.
If you are having squirming on tar snakes there is a very good chance you need an alignment, that was my experience. The SlingShot tracked totally different after alignment.
@Joker will give the fenders the test ride to Maggie alright, he had plastics flying off his SlingShot on the same trip last year! These fenders look sharp, I love the look of every install I have seen in pictures or up close. Looking forward to seeing more up close in Maggie.
