My wife is from the Philippines over there they like to celebrate Christmas for much longer that we seem to here. According to Sara they generally start decorating on September 1st and the decorations stay up until 3 kings day which is January 6th - - here we have never started that early but we do keep things up until after Jan 6, usually the first weekend after the 6th is when they come down
As a side note In January of this year we were in the Philippines from January 2 until the 16th and in most of the towns we drove through, in our traveling around, the streets were still very much decorated for Christmas
I think the only reason why my wife doesn't start earlier here is because the Thanksgiving holiday comes first - - which is not a problem in the Philippines as it is clearly an American holiday
