After visiting with DocG-Greg, I wanted to let all his friends know what is going on with him. Early AM on Sunday the 4th he suffered a massive heart attack at home. His wife Michelle bought him back to life but his heart stopped again as he arrived at the hospital. He was revived there and was in the ICU at Mary Washington in Fredericksburg for two days before being transferred to another hospital in Arlington, VA. Glad to report he is now home and has 90 days of non work status. He had to be intubated in the ambulance when they came to his house so his throat is still sore and he is a little hoarse. The good news is that his throat discomfort is helping him to stay off cigs for good (I hope). I have enjoyed many a cheeseburger at his house but they too will be off the menu for a while as Michelle is doing a good job of being the diet Nazi. I have been drafted to keep his sling and Goldwing trike limber until he can be back in the saddle and help chauffeur him when needed to spell his angel wife. He has asked me to be a contact for him temporarily while his strength comes back. Sucks because he was scheduled for back surgery to fix old issues and that is now off indefinitely.
Whether you are a fellow veteran, he was one of those crazy submariners, keep Greg in your thoughts as he gets back into riding form. A great guy whose default response when I or anybody else needed a favor was always 'Absolutely'.
