We are just over a month out from SSITR. This year it's in Colorado Springs, CO! Home of Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods. This is definitely one of the smaller shows put on by Slingshot Roadsters...but its one of the most beautiful. It will actually feel like a vacation compared to the bigger shows...so this means you all need a break from Homecoming, you all need a break from Maggie Valley, you need a break from Kerrville... Come on out and enjoy the Rocky Mountain high (no pun intended). I will have my slingshot out for everyone to see...4 wheel conversion freshly back from install from TrakHamr. Get registered...see you there!

How many have been there last year or how many registered last year?

JUST ASKING
Registrations were funny the last 2 years. I think 2 years ago we only had about 45 registered up until 2 weeks before the show...we had just over 80 or so show up. Last year it was only about 30 registered and then we had a slew of people show up again. I think it was around 80 again last year.
This year it's not in Avon. Colorado Springs offers a lot more to do...and between Denver and Colorado Springs there should be at least 60-70 slingshots alone...and we already know that some of the Midwest riders will be headed out here, I am thinking we should be close to 100 this year if everyone shows up. -
Just curious, kinda thinking bout an epic adventure and going through that part of the country. What temperature around that time
-
Beautiful and great weather... Better than south TX... Gets warm, but not too hot. And evenings are great!
-
Just ride up to the top of pike's peak, always cool up there!
-
If you see me out there...
Something snapped!
Would love to see that area, country again.
Just post plenty of pics to keep the dream alive.

This show really is the laid back and get to know each other meet of the show circuit. I've had the pleasure of meeting some of the long timers and some of the serious road warriors. I do think there is a planned ride to go through Garden of the Gods and then head up to Pikes Peak. If that is the case...jump all over it...the views are amazing...just make sure to hydrate and if you have issues with heights or steep drop offs...you may want to pace yourself. lol

Also, if you are the type to ride brakes, get used to not doing so, if you do the Pike's Peak ride. They brake check you on the way down, checking peoples rotor temps and make you pull over if you are too hot. Downshift and let the engine brake you.
There is a nice little store there where they check, my brakes passed, but we stopped to shop anyway.

Finally off the fence and made hotel reservation. They have room for me to park the truck/camper in their lot as well as the trailer.
-
I was wondering about the parking lot...I know it's a huge place...just didn't know how friendly it would be for those bringing trailers.

So who is going to be there?!?
-
I believe we are up to about 70 registered... and as always there will be 20 or so stragglers that show up the day of and register. I won't be able to ride lead this year but I do plan on being there everyday after 1030am. Unfortunately we are short handed at work so I wont' be able to take off whole days.

Today is the first day! I will be down there in a few hours to start saying hi to all those that have been traveling. FB has been really cool for seeing people come in from all over.

Day one was a great start...I know the big flood of people are coming in today. There were probably 30-35 slingshots already there and the meet and greet was great! Putting together an album this afternoon to share with everyone.
