I have done the research and found that if you want display your OBDII data that is coming from the Haltech Elite's CanHi and CanLo wires there is a way to do this with car stereos that support Maestro RR Idatalink connections.
After it is hooked up to the kenwood it will allow you to display any data that is coming across the CAN bus. Which is pretty much anything you could possibly want to see.
Things needed ...
You will need a radio that supports the Maestro Module. There are several different brands. I have seen some reviews where the Pioneer gave issues with this feature. If you decide to pick another brand besides the Kenwood then do your research first.
I picked the Kenwood DNX-574S and it was $899.00 normally and Electronics Express had it on sale for $599.00
You will need a Maestro RR module. It is $149.00 from Best Buy
You will need a Haltech Elite 1500 ECU instead of the factory ECU. It is cost prohibitive if you don't have to have it for engine tuning. But as more and more people purchase them this addition isn't that far out of range. Cost is roughly $2200.00 for this ECU and harness.
You will need to download and flash the Maestro with the 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer flash. This will be all that is needed to hook the obd2 data up so its displayed on the radio. Its basically a generic flash that does not have HVAC and TPMS and all the stuff in modern cars. It is just for OBD2 data basically. (exactly what we want)
You wont need any vehicle specific modules for this. The Maestro RR kit comes with all you need as far as wiring is concerned.
This is the first post so I will be adding pictures as soon as I get into the install. Right now I am going to post the install instructions for the Lancer and the flash file for the Lancer.
I googled some pictures that show roughly how you can pick the center, right ,left and whatever position you want the gauge to appear.
