Conservative Politics & Daily Events Discussion

  • Trump is setting a horrible precedent. He has out "Dictator and Chief"ed Obama. Mostly using executive orders to erase Obama's legislative moves. We will be a stagnant nation forever if every President is more focused on erasing his/her predecessors actions rather than implementing more country improving legislation. 109 Obama regulations reversed/removed to date. Trump sadly has been caught at least 3 times(that I know of) publicly being completely ignorant to the effects of the reversals or even knowing anything about the legislation except Obama signed it. One time he even showed signs of remorse for the effects of his reversal. That is utter stupidity, childishness and a poor precedent to set.

I don’t honk you err on one point, Trump has used executive orders to erase thinks that Obama did by executive order. He can not in fact,as amateur of law, erase legislation with an executive order.

  • “ why are you twisting my words?” - ER HUH - did you forget what I used to do for a living ? :00008172: I get your point but there is a reason we have 3 branches of government that authors and ultimately pass laws that govern this country. Since the House and Senate were broken and still are IMO - Obama took it upon himself to go way beyond his authority signing hundreds of executive orders without a mandate from the legislative branches or the American people. Now you are arguing Trump is worse because he is undoing the total mess Obama made. Obama will go down in the history books as the first black president..and that’s it because his policies were failures. I’m sure Jimmy Carter is happy - he actually lived long enough to see a worse president than himself. That diplomacy your talkin about has really worked well for us with North Korea for the last 25 years - they are now not far from being able to drop an nuclear bomb in your front yard. Kim Jong Un is a lunatic and the only thing keeping him from an attack is he knows Trump will annihilate him and his entire country. Very sad cause 100’s of thousands will die in probably the shortest war in history. Everybody chanted “Hope and Change” when Obama was elected - for many of us “Hope and Change” began when Trump was elected.

PS I’m still waitin on that $800 your talkin about - my check musta got lost in the mail :00008356: I have never figured out a way to get a dime out of the government BUT there is hope - I turn 62 in Sept and will get my first SS check - not sure I’m gonna cash it - think I’ll frame it, hang it on the wall, get a glass of fine Kentucky bourbon, light a good Cohiba and see how much I’m still in the hole on Obamacare ;( (Still love ya @WOLF)

Not an option Bill, everything is direct deposit these days. That was the government has you account number just Incase they need to make a withdrawal

  • @Bill Martin many in this thread berated Obama for the amount of executive orders he used(still fewer than most), calling him dictator and chief. If he was a dictator for his amount, Trump having done it more would logically be more of a dictator. Every President reverses some of their predecessors actions. Trump is on a "if Obama signed it, I'm gonna erase it" power trip. He went as far as to tell the Alaskan Goveror, "I can change the name of that mountain back if you want". He tried to pollute Michigan waters by attempting to reverse a water protection bill Obama signed. Trump is a child.

Donald Trump has a long way to go before he catches up to his predecessors so we shall see in the next 7 years :P how he measures up. Obama’s bad policies being reversed is NOT a bad thing if you are conservative and believe in capitalism but great if you are liberal and believe it’s the governments job to take care of you - (socialism never works) it is horrible. I will concede Trump is not a politician and sometimes should take a nap rather than tweet. On the other hand he made a fortune in the New York City real estate market, arguably the toughest place to operate that business. He can make things happen, knows how to make deals, knows how to drive the economy so the remark he “is a child” may be a personal opinion but very far from actuality!!

  • Obama is not black, he is mixed. A child takes the same race as their mother, so he would be white by race.

Well that is a fact Jack! To bad it even matters or seems to make any difference.. a man is a man, woman is a woman, people are people a douche is a douche. Everyone always gets caught up in the little details.

  • I'm sorry you think clean air and water are bad ideas @Bill Martin. I personally think corporate profits shouldn't come before community health. To each their own, I guess. Those reversals are bad in my eyes. It blows my mind that clean air and water are partisan issues.
Also, I said "to date" when I first brought up the amount of executive orders @Bill Martin. I understand how it can be hard to defend the indefensible. You do you...lawyer up! ;)

Trump acts like every 14 year old boy I've ever met. Read his tweets. Watch his antics. That is where I get my "child" view from.

@thesabrerattler , I understand your "legislation" comment. I'm posting on a forum, just conveying an idea. Most understood what I meant, semantics aside. The fact that Trump needed your point explained to him on more than one occasion, as President, is much more concerning.

@WingShot not true... President Obama was considered Mulatto - just to be technically correct!

But like @Travis — why get do we get caught up in the little details... if I get cut - I bleed the same blood as Obama, as you or Bill. The race of the President has no bearing in the this.

    WE WERE ALL HUMANS UNTIL
    RACE DISCONNECTED US,
    RELIGION SEPERATED US,
    POLITICS DIVIDED US,
    AND WEALTH CLASSIFIED US.

Agree - race has absolutely nothing to do with Obama’s failed presidency - Jimmy Carter is as white as it gets and it’s a toss up who was a worse President. Poor leadership knows no color.

I might not be right but I can sure sound like it

  • So I am just curious @Bill Martin what you would consider a Failed Presidentcy - just thinking about the Housing Market Crash, Stock Market Crash and we went to war under false allegations of WMD? All under President Bush-that’s what the left would say... Now please be honest, as I know you will brother - President Bush is an old friend and I by no means are ashamed of that.

  • No doubt Bush had his problems also and I am very proud of you for having your picture taken with him - had to be a great honor. Obama’s failures far exceeds Bush’s in my opinion

I might not be right but I can sure sound like it

  • ^^^ :00008862::00008356: You believe all that crap? How do some of those even fall on the President? The War on Christmas and Christianity is something the far right made up to get more Christian votes. Obama said Merry Christmas many times each year. He was a Baptist (last I checked a Christian faith). Remember that reverend at Obama's church that had the Rights panties in a bunch? I know the Christian faith thing clashed with the "he's a Muslim" thing so the Right cherry picked the parts that fit their narrative.

  • Just thought I would throw this out there for thought. I know it appears that I am a Trump supporter no matter what. Let me set the record straight - if it is ever proven beyond a reasonable doubt that Trump broke any laws I say impeach him and prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law even if it places us in a Constitutional dilemma. I still believe that Hillary has broken the law and the same should apply to her. We will never know what Obama knew so he skates. Politicians should be held to a higher standard than private citizens and that concept has died a heinous death!!

I might not be right but I can sure sound like it

  • Welll DARN I was talking about President Bush but the the deflection back to Obama keeps coming back so I will not go any further. Yes taking a picture with the President of United States is always a great honor... I have been honored to work with many Administrators, my thoughts are to keep a open mind by many of them as I have voted for both parties. I am never looking to chang folks minds - only to help them understand that none of these Americans take selfless acts or even personal gain! That said, what I have witnessed since 2006 is simply incredible and this last 11 months.... hmmmm - no comment and history will be the ultimate judge.

Okay Bill I am going to go pour me a good glass of bourbon,

  • Annnd out of all those points that is the only one you dispute???? Very poor response in a debate oriented conversation ... your serve :00008359:

I refuse to do your research for you Bill. Most of those are flat out inaccurate, others are wrongly applied to Obama, some were happening under Bush Sr., Clinton and Bush Jr. and some others are straight up fabrications. " :00008356: " was my response to them because I figured a smart guy like you wouldn't believe such nonsense without fact checking.

I must say we are at a point in a chess game called “stalemate” - moving on still buddies we go :)

I will agree with you on this, but on opposite ends of the spectrum.
What I have witnessed since 2006 is simply incredible.
Under Obama, racial hatred and racial bias went to all time highs.
Disdain for Police and Military have reached new levels
Dependence on Government handouts reached all time highs not seen since the great depression.
    Illegal immigration at record highs
Employment at all time lows, people actually LOOKING for work at all time lows because of government handouts.
The reputation and respect of the USA in the WORLD at all time lows.

    AND these past 11 months?????
Stock market at never before seen high levels
    Housing market rebounding

UNemployment at record lows for the past 15 years
    ILLEGAL immigration down
    Terrorist immigration down
    government dependency levels dropping
Businesses doing better, making more PROFIT, hiring more PEOPLE
USA now has RESPECT of the world, realizes they can no longer F*#K with us as PRESIDENT TRUMP will F*#K with them right back.

And BTW, The housing and banking problem you mentioned
It is 100% in the laps of the Democrats. They, and THEY ALONE, FORCED the banks to give housing loans to unqualified applicants, who couldn't afford the payments, all in the name of racial equality and allow the poor to experience home ownership.
I wonder what those "homeowners" took away from that experience????

And are you talking about the war that DEMOCRATS VOTED FOR based on the same reports that the REPUBLICANS also saw?
The war is a result of BOTH PARTIES voting for it, so the Dems need to take responsibility for it just like the REPUBS do.

  • @lrobbi I have to agree - a glass of bourbon always helps. Again - when I started this thread I named it POLITICS SUCKS for a reason. While no President will ever make everybody happy I don’t think any of us will disagree Obama and Trump are 2 of the most polarizing Presidents in recent history - you either love em or despise em. We have GOT to figure out how to get somebody in office to unite the country. If you piss off half the country every time you open your mouth it is hard to guage any administration successful. The left has dug in hard with no compromise and the right has done the same. The Presidents catch most of the flack but the real problem lies in the House and Senate. Throwing that whole bunch out and starting new with term limits would be a huge step in the right direction. I just love that we can discuss our vastly different points of view without letting it get reduced to personal attacks. This thread is proof that it can be done and I thank you - I will never dog you “lefties” for being wrong :00008172::P:saint:
