My apologizes sir. @rabtech is correct. The camera snaps in as shown. The third brake light has a screw in the rear under the camera, and a screw at the top or front. The little black trim piece covering up the front screw snaps up also. Hope these pictures help. Just took them so I apologize for the glare in the pictures from my overhead lights.

so light doesn't simply lift up.......putty knife between light and camera housing and pry pressure toward front of bike.....right? is it common for the forward tabs to break off?
-
They dont break off easy... I have had my camera out about 30 times... they get weak...
From the bottom / back pull up on the camera housing... No putty knife or any tool is needed.

thank you both for the pics and advise, very helpful. rabtech, when you replace the camera does the wire have to be replaced?
-
I would. I like to use a heavy RCA video cable.

I have the same issue of the camera lining up with the direction the bike is moving...I know "get a new driver license' --- the tech at my dealership has
tried twice to get it straight --- NO luck. -

I don't feel like the Sling reverses completely straight, even if your camera is lined up properly at first and you keep the wheel in a set position, it begins to curve slightly... Maybe alignment with mine... I am noticing the rear tire is wearing unevenly...
-
Yeah, I was thinking if I can't get mine adjusted I'd replace it.

thanks again for the help you two have given. maybe one day I can repay you.

Most all of us are here to learn and have a little Fun. We got some real great teachers who are very willing to share their knowledge. ME--I just steal others
great knowledge and share it when I can. -
lol I'm stealing as much info as I can too.

I've got 26,000 miles on the 2016 and it was laser aligned on day one at the dealer. I have 20,000 miles on a set of Nitto 555, the rear will need to be changed out in the Spring and the fronts still look new. I don't try to 'chirp' the tires every time I take off but do from time to time....been real happy with these tires..
unless you have had a bad bump or some thing alignment should be good for a good while. If tires are wearing bad a $100.00 alignment vs tires????????? -
Got it off and I can't figure how it can be adjusted so an after market unit is gonna replace it. I'm thinking get a cover from a base model and mount the aftermarket one on top and place it according to my new screen (centered). Anyone out there have a cover that I can purchase or swap.
Thanks again to all that helped me with info and pics.

Post a picture of the bottom side of it and let me see what the stock camera looks like. Its been a while and I cant remember exactly what it looks like...

I took the SS to have ceramic coating applied to the paint yesterday, it'll be gone for a week. Maybe this description would help......2 u shaped mounting points moulded in plastic and the camera has a metal ring with 4 tads to hold in in place when pushed in from the outside, a threaded cylinder holds the ring in place. I took some material off the side of the U shaped mounting points to allow the camera to shift to one side and shim the other side to hold it in place but it wasn't moving enough to make a difference.
A cover from the base ss would allow an aftermarket camera to be installed externally on top and can be rotated to make the image center on the screen.
Thanks for taking a look and you (with your mechanical abiliy) will probably come up with a better solution.
