Im still on the fence on the answer....
Yea, I keep asking myself this question daily

I hear you... I have purchased new engine Forged internals and they are stacking up in the GARAGE...waiting ...waiting...waiting.

The answer depends on where you are now...
I can tell you that up to 9 or 10PSI with a Hahn or Alpha kit you "should" be fine.. I say "should" because I have seen stock engines come apart without even having boost... Anything can happen..... I would not go over 10psi even if you change the head bolts... Your just asking for trouble.
Another BIG thing...Always run 92 or 93 octane gas and keep your oil changed at least every 4000 miles and you will be happy with your turbo..
Use common sense and if you even "think" you hear an engine noise like pinging or knocking get out of the gas pedal... It would be more likely to occur during 4th and 5th while under 4000 rpm when applying the gas... So listen to what your engine is telling you...

Well, I had my SS at dealer yesterday getting my 11k service. They noticed that the transmission is leaking between bell housing and trans case, found out they have to pull engine to fix it! Although its warranty, while the engine is out, you know where my head is going.....
