a new little EDC. Kershaw Launch 10 - - - a tiny CA legal automatic knife. also a made in the USA knife, really well made, solid little thing that opens lightning fast with a CPM 154 blade - blade is only 1.9 inches long, like I said CA legal

Got my self the real Gibbs rule 9 knife - Zero Torrance 0350 - in the NCIS show this is the knife that Gibbs carries although he has the version with the blade coated in stripes, but I like the solid black better. Got to say I am very impressed with the build quality of this knife, as they say - built like a tank

Some Made in USA goodness - from top down, Spyderco Para 3, Zero Tolerance 350, & last but not lease Benchmade Griptilian

Installed a drawer on work bench today for some of my lesser used knives - still have a bunch on my dresser, but at least its a bit more managable now

I decided I wanted to collect all of the California legal Kershaw automatic knives. Already had the Launch 10 and the Launch 9 and just now I received the Launch 12CA. and I have the Launch 4 on the way - - pretty sure the 4 is the only one that is still in production the others are all discontinued (but obviously can still be found)

Launch 12 was offered in two versions the standard with a 2.4 inch blade and the CA version with a 1.95 inch blade. one thing I like about this CA knife is that it uses the same handle as its larger sister which makes it a better fit in the hand compared to my other CA legal autos.

Edit, I also very much like that all of the Kershaw automatic knives are made in the U.S.A. unlike many of their other knives

Actually, I think Ive changed my mind. I think I prefer the shorter handles on my launch 9 & 10 over the longer handle on the launch 12ca. I like carrying these little automatics in the 5th pocket of my pants where they are completely out of the way, and if I'm going to carry the longer launch 12 I might as well carry a full size non automatic.

Well. I guess Im not collecting all of the CA legal Kershaw autos, I just returned my launch 12ca - - first knife I have ever returned just didnt do it for me

well, I have to admit, that ever since I got into collecting knives I have become a bit of a knife blade steel snob - - I find the differences in the various steels very interesting and love the idea of having a knife with a blade made from something special - - Anyway for those interested here is a link to the best information I have found on this subject - the guy who's site this is is actually the inventor of Magnacut Steel - one of the best knife steels you can get
