I have this four port USB hub coming into my glove box to recharge the batteries for our heated vests. It doesn’t seem to work very well or sometimes at all. I bought this on Amazon and my question is this; is this USB port compatible with a 12 V auto system? If not, where can I get one that is that will charge my batteries?

USB can carry various amperages.
Most heated vest batteries will want 2.1 amp each to charge.
I believe the usb port on the SLings Glovebox is only 800 milliamp. Spreading that over that many devices ( 4 vests) would take days if not weeks.
You want to use a 12 volt to USB charger ( most of them will only do 2 at a time do to current)

First off, thank you so much for the reply. Makes perfect sense now. Is there such a thing as being able to wire into my fuse block, and then have a USB female port on the other side to plug this into? Perhaps some thing on Amazon or at my local auto parts store?

Perhaps this? As it has pigtails, that I can run to my fuse block.

Yeeep. as simple as this.. https://www.amazon.com/YIPIN-H…mZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl
You can always wire this into the fuse block if you want.

That will work...

Thank you so much! I have two round holes already in my glove box for the above that would fit right in. It looks like they have the capacity to charge the batteries as well.
Very much appreciate the electrical advice. I’m not too handy in that neck of the woods.😎

I’m gonna go with this one as it is a 10 amp charger. This one’s a little more expensive, but I can charge four batteries and two phones with this one simultaneously.

My question is what plug is on the heated vest and why are you trying to use a USB port to charge them.

I am using the USB port to charge the extra batteries when depleted. We have a spare set so when one set is depleted we throw them on the charger. We love the vests as they will last almost 2 hours with a full charge on the battery.
