It is a new one, 2016.5... It was an impulse buy anyway. I have the problem of wanting something as soon as it comes out and going deeper into debt.... Dealer just picked it up Friday, said the parts were on backorder, but glad he got mine in so quick, as they were backordered after mine...? WTF? That made no sense, but that's what he said. We're in the middle of moving, so that's just one thing that isn't in the way, while it's at the shop.

I'm an Alabama Fan and will be picking my new 2016.5 Slingshot up this week. I moved to Pensacola a few months ago and am looking forward to riding and learning the area. RTR!
-
Congrats on the new Slingshot. I get down that way a couple times a year. Actually Panama City Beach.. We do bike week twice a year
-
Congrats on the new SS and welcome
-
Thanks guys. Next time you head this way let me know. Upon purchasing my SS, does the dealer add slingmods.com to the purchase agreement? Just wondering, there's a few things that I would like to add.
-
Lived in Huntsville as a kid - my Dad worked for GE and they did contract work for NASA at Redstone Arsenal during the space race period. When funding was reduced in the early '70s, GE moved my Dad to Connecticut.
I always joke that I am bi-cultural.

if you buy the parts, then some of the dealers do installs.
Welcome to the family! -
I am in the Mobile area if anyone is in the area and wants to ride.
-
Slingbush, we're building a house but if I can get free and head over to Mobile I'll let you know.
-
Quite a few here representing the Southern Pine, Yellowhammer state...
@BigRedSS, @airoutlaw, @rabtech @MirageBeMeIf yall ever decide to plan a ride together, we'd be up for it.
@larry, are you in Alabama? Seen a post where you had mentioned you wish there were roads like georgia has in north alabama..
-
@rabtech, next time you and allison decide you would like to ride on a weekend (before it gets hot enough to smelt metal), send us a message. Maybe you can talk @airoutlaw into a supercharger install at SSITS Its a wife approved mod....
-
Yep,, we live in walker county 12 miles north of jasper..
-
-
Well, let me drop a few good rides on your list of possibilities @larry, Paint Rock (take the curvy back roads)
Paint Rock, Alabama - Wikipedia
Little River Canyon (best seen in fall) lots of super nice cabin VRBO's in the area.
Little River Canyon National Preserve - Wikipedia
Rattlesnake Saloon if you like trying new places to eat
Tuscumbia, AL - Rattlesnake Saloon - In a Cave
Mount Cheaha State Park has some excellent curvy roads to venture down, and the lodge is also nice.
Cheaha State Park - Google SearchSome made in Slingshot, some made on a Goldwing. All are good memories
-
Now we havent did much traveling west of us, maybe you can fill us in on some places out your back door
-
Well,, we've done all those rides and visited those places other than paint rock, and possibly been there just not familiar with that location but I have heard of it. We also have a 2010 gold wing trike and have had since 2011 so most of all the rides you mentioned was on the trike... we purchased the sling the last Saturday in august for my wife's birthday. It's actually hers technicaly But I have become addicted to it more than I ever would have imagined......as far as rides west of my location hmmmm pot holes on most all of them,, we have traveled over to Columbus Ms on back roads and to tupelo, but other than those couple places not to much to look at on the west side.......
-
paint rock may not be worth it if you expect something other than roads to cruise.. like I said, youd have to look at google maps, some of the roads get pretty interesting. Paint Rock used to be a lodge/resort but is closed down now. One road we took, came to an abrupt end and someone had spray painted. "this way --> " on the "<- ->" road sign. We thought that was funny but if you actually turned left instead of right, you went into Tennessee.
-
69 south to Tuscaloosa from here is a blast to run in the sling, we actually bought the SS at Bama buggies down there......
-
Theres one we havent done @airoutlaw
-
I believe we could get Rabtech and Allison to ride down to t-town for some lunch one weekend and hay just maybe we could get coach Saban to meet us at Bryant Denny for a group pic in the SS's...
