It was originally the D-Mod by roadog1aj who reported limited results. Really only effective at high speeds. mniron worked with it but I don't think he got it to perform either. I was thinking about doing this in diamond plate to complement my rear protection plates but have kind of backed off parts production for the time being. If a guy spent some time experimenting with size, shape, placement, stand-off, etc., I think it's possible that it could work.

When I bought the Riken's they did not have the new General RS tires out yet and I had to have some tires, SUMMER SEASON was a coming.

The General G-Max RS is a summer tire. I avoid rain and didn't feel like I needed an all-season. I did get caught in a torrential downpour in Banff National Park in Alberta this summer with it on the rear (and stock Kendas on front) and felt solid. I just turned off both nannies like someone here recommended (who was that?) and slowed my ass down. I went through standing water twice without a shimmy, shake or even minor slide. Thanks for the advice!

I now have a third set of tires and rims with the Sling Shot attached to this set.

Congrats man! Looking forward to seeing pics. Oops - I mean hearing a description. Thanks for the info on the Nitto. I was going to buy that tire, then I talked to Goats_Hogs who showed me his 275 General G-Max and I went with that. I'm real happy with that tire and would/will buy it again, and will likely put them on front as well someday.

I don't and won't use facebook but I will offer up my opinion that there are good folks on there as well, just like on the dark side. You just won't notice them through the forest of morons. My wife has been marketing some of my parts there and the inquiries and questions are markedly different:rolleyes: than here on the forum, but there are a few guys that have been supportive and have passed on our info to many others, emailed her with leads, and posted positive reviews and pictures for us. I met a couple of them in Huntsville at homecoming, Floyd Hebbard and John Phillips. Good guys both of them!

The higher the percentage of idiots, the easier it is to condemn a particular platform but it really only takes one to irritate a lot of people. It's my belief that this forum has self-regulated itself by the genuine and sincere camaraderie that is shown by everyone present.

What really interests me is the anger that people can work up over this when all you have to do is tune out or alter your attitude to consider it entertainment. If you're beating your head against the wall, you're doing it wrong.

    SlingLow out!

Polaris won't go electric until they can make money from it. 5 years is a reasonable estimate. But I wouldn't put money on it...

Another factor is how old the battery is when you get it. It could have been sitting in a showroom for up to a year, on a warehouse shelf for months before that, and on a slow boat from China for weeks or months before that. Like wokka says, they die and you replace them. My smurf battery only lasted about a year with no electrical mods at all, while I got 9 years out of my motorcycle size Yuasa OEM tractor battery that never saw a tender. Meanwhile I just replaced a '13 and '14 battery in my diesel truck (the '13 battery was still good) and a '12 battery in my excavator that sits in an off-grid shop all winter with no tender ($540 total for the 3!). Next up is the deep cycle battery in my camper which I will replace with a Canadian made Rolls battery for $170. At the end of the day it is what it is. It's part of the cost of ownership.

I had a similar issue when I wired a SPDT switch on my 1st Sling to turn the headlights on when up and the demon eyes when down. I ended up using a diode to separate the 2 circuits. A diode will allow electricity to flow one way but not the other. It was a while ago and I'm a little confused by the reverse wiring but I believe you would install it on the demon positive so that it can flow to the switch. Then the hazard positive can't flow to the demon ground. This is just a guess aznative75 but diodes are cheap and this would be relatively easy to try.

Always a pleasure hanging out with my Slingshot pals! Thank you sir for getting us together again. Cruising Oregon wine country in perfect weather makes for an awesome day.

    Tomorrow: Rain and football.
