I've been reading there too. Again, the 151 is listed as an option. I just can't figure out why I can't thread the cap on with that one.
Did you snap the new (151) filter into the cap before trying to thread it?

They are actually different size and shape. The 151 is taller by about 1/4" with a shorter nipple.
The k&n 7000 has full size nipples.

The k&n 7000 has full size nipples.
Notice the larger 151A on right. And neither one is in the cup.
Directly from the website. 151 is the old number and 151A is the new number.
If you already have the 151A on hand, I'd suggest putting it in, then removing it to see if it collapsed any. If so, go with shorter one, or get another brand such as K&N, Wix, Bosch, all good filters that fit properly...I've used them. The filter should fit snugly up in the cap.
A physically longer filter will end up looking like this when installed .....
The 151 is the longer filter by about 1/4" overall length with a shorter nipple.
What is difference in 151 and 151A, still don't know? Saw what @MWSlingshot said above but would like to know difference in them, if any?
See above.

It doesn't snap in. The 151A does but now I'm concerned about the shorter length. The 151 has these tabs that don't allow it to snap in.

The 151A is the one I took out. It collapsed slightly. I think I'll take your advice and just buy another brand.
Thanks to everyone for the advice!
My last reply to this . I called Mobile 1 Official Site today to see if they could answer the question. They said that 151 and 151A are the same with the exception that the "A" version is the new one and that the "O" ring is rated at a higher temp. (20,000 deg. (I think). Anyway he said they should be the same size and fit the same vehicle. I will check my "A" version in the AM to see if it has collapsed. Like @SlingLow ready to buy another brand.
