    Many people state the Federal Government is wasteful. Here is a small part of it. We had a President that was strong enough to stand up to waste and made it a priority to cut down on waste using common sense.


    I just heard President Elect Biden state that he is going to reinstate the environmental policies revoked by President Trump. So everyone applauds and gives a big hurray! It's what the public sees and its sounds great!


    People say the government is a big waste machine. Here is why. This is what is being put into place behind the scenes.


    President Obama had a huge Executive Order: EO 13693 that uses verbiage such as "shall & must" There were exceptions, weapons systems, beyond reasonable cost, were some.


    President trump had a much more reasonable approach issuing EO 13834. Advising agencies to give first preference to energy efficiently and performance contracting. In short it gave leeway for individual purchasing that worked for the environment, government and performed up to customer standards at a reasonable cost.


    This is what the reversion will do. Company X produces a commercial off the shelf product, example, biobased disposable utensil packet (Fork, Knife, Spoon) It contains 25% biobased content. This is a product company X already produces at a cost the general public will accept as affordable, it can sell and make a profit. The government can buy this product at a further reduced price. Good stuff!


    Hold on, according to the USDA (who sets the standards) the EO Obama/Biden administration requires a minimum biobased content of 48% for disposable cutlery as listed within USDA guidelines. BioPreferred|Product Categories


    The federal government wants to expand biobased content forcing companies to produce a product different than the product currently in production. Now they have to change their formula, production tooling & processes (cure time is slower) to suit a single customer. Risky for the producer because they have no guarantee of continued purchases from the government beyond the contract. These issues drive up production costs.


    The military is huge. Dining facilities, field kitchens, group rations, MRE's. FEMA, United Nations. Lets add to that. US National Policies and procedures. I'm not sure but I believe it's national policy the US must be capable to support two major conflicts and 3 minor at the same time? Somewhere in their there's something about a percentage of civilian survivability for extended periods in the event of a major nuclear attack. Imagine the massive amount of dining packets needed to be purchase to support this. Now imagine the shelf life of an MRE is a few years but they must be replaced.


    Now imagine the taxpayer cost incurred in this one simple product to support the more strict E.O. as opposed to giving the purchaser the leeway to look at the commercial off the shelf product already in production by company X.


    Now imagine the cost of all the combined federal purchasing in all areas affected when purchasing goes outside what companies are currently producing that may fit the need. Before I get bashed as a climate and environment basher. I am not, I fully support better environmental practices. Just in a way that is practical and continues to achieve better goals. The private sector is getting much better at it and people are working towards it at a level that manufacturing can handle.

He charged the government $thousands$ of dollars for Secret Service agents to stay in his flea trap "resorts". He increased the national debt more than any other president. Even beating George the Idiot Bush. His kids treated the Treasury like a bottomless piggy bank.

    He put Midas, Creosus and all the Caesars to shame. Because he has no shame.

    if the Democrats didn’t continue to kill the economy to make Trump look bad before the election and we didn’t have a virus that needed stimulus money for desperate people to buy food the national debt would still be where it was when Obama left.

    In the end everyone of these products are a hybrid blend of biobased material and petroleum based plastic. End result part breaks down under the proper conditions. Half does not. Want a fork that degrades into smaller plastic and carries much easier into the waterways?
