Well, I’m finished. This is my five dollar solution. I removed both levers. I purchased a piece of 1/8“ x 1/2“ aluminum bar. Formed the bar to the curvature of the lever and attached it with two 8/32nd bolts. One picture is pre-painted so you could see it and I have yet to install them because the paint is still a little bit tacky. I did install it pre-paint and tried it. The entire length is just a tad over 7 inches. Works like a champ!

Used a short 3/8" plumbing standoff, ground down to fit into the stock space, and used stock screw. Tied a piece of lace around it, and fed through a single hole in the tip of the handle.
