Bigdog you have two choices here.

    (1) be thankful that you have pulled the lucky long straw and fortunate enough to have a very rare SlingShot with fenders that do not flap with minor adjustment and respect the rest of the SlingShot community.

    Or

    (2) believe the rest of the SlingShot community are clueless and do not understand how the hood system works after 4 years.

Like I said. Your choice. Just wanted to point out what you have turned this conversation into.

Well done sir. Glad I got to drive it before it moved on.

Wonder if there is outside consulting / testing going on here.... The next sling might be interesting....

I don't know a thing... But just having fun here...

Ga requires them so I use one. Have gone through 4 different options until a settled on a very light Badass brand 1/2 helmet. One of the lightest on the market for reasons noted. I'm also a sports car guy and really love the open air feel. Before the SlingShot I restored a Triumph Spitfire and it was smaller and felt less protective than the Sling but required no helmet. Currently have a first gen Miata and again the only difference is an extra wheel and a A-pillar windshield. Is it safer than the two rear hoops...? Hard to say but we are accustom to the hard framed windshields so assume yes.

Now a will say that riding the SlingShot in the winter with a nice warm full face helmet is nice and a lot less funny looking worn in the SlingShot than the Miata ... 8o

What about some sort of tonneau cover. That has zippers or a provision to open the drivers area up. Would work under most roofs probably. Give you way more rain protection for the cockpit. And a splash guard for beside the driver. Those who don't want to have a roof get great weather protection as well for longer trips. Could attach with some sort of pocket over the seat maybe. And if it's raining you just jump out zip it closed and voila its covered lol. My 2 cents anyways your definitely the right guy to share that with. Hope all is well with you and the wifey :)

Yep... Been on the list sense the day I got the sling. I have owned a number of British sports cars. I have even found the correct fasteners that match the SlingShot. The big question has to do with the SlingShot owner. Would they be willing to drill and mount the required fasteners.

my sisters first husband had a 914 back in the 70's - - it sucked, got my first car in 1970 it was a 1964 Porsche 356C cost me $2,800 damn thing never broke and was very inexpensive to maintain basically a VW motor

when talking about todays Porsches probably neither of these experiences is even relevant not really reasonable to judge a car made in 2019 by what happened 50 years ago

2004 Porsche Cayenne with 220,000 miles and pulling strong. I have been able to sneak into the Porsche ownership through certified pre-owned market on the Panamera for my wife (less cost than you would think). Love the Hybrid but with the kids all out of the house in about 2 - 3 years it will be about the time to get her something else. By then the 2020 or 2021s should be out on the used market for less than the $60K. For whats being offered that will be one hell of a good deal. Its also the first Vette my wife has ever even considered. With that said a Cayman is not off the list but the specs on the Vette are very nice and I bet for less than the Cayman.

Old thread, new question! Is the $100 off a yearly sale? And is one gas strut enough for lifting top? Need both?

There is no set time that we do a particular amount off. We are currently doing everything in our powers to keep the current price of $975 due to increases in material cost.

One lift uses a 60lbs. Dual uses 2 30lbs struts. Both function the same but some people like a balanced look.

Tier one..... Can be a good place or a bad place to be if you are a supplier.
