Update for those with a 2016.5 Slingshot. I just purchased an Optima battery to replace the smaller battery. When I called Slingmods to order the battery mount they let me know that tricled is no longer making the mount to fit the 2016.5 model year slingshots. I had to purchase one from Slingshotonly who still sells them.

I am used to speaking with Brandon when I call slingmods who has provided excellent service from the days when they only had 4 items for sale. Today's conversation, which was not with Brandon, left me not wanting to call them back. I got a lecture on how the slingshot was not a high demand produced vehicle and how vendors will not tend to cater to Polaris every time there is a change. I kind of stopped the conversation at that point being the new guy to the slingshot world.........bad move on their part. I have always championed them as a vendor. Thanks for the conversation, I feel better now.
Hey @Slingrazor
Our sincere apologies if we sounded as though we were lecturing…We would never want that to be the case, as we are only looking to inform. While on the phone, we just wanted you to know that the 2017 tray that you were trying to order would not be compatible with your 2016.5 model (at least the TricLED one we carry). We would hate for you to have ordered, and been upset when it arrived and did not fit your Slingshot.
The TricLED 2016 trays are not discontinued, but on a large backorder as they are in the process of making more. As there is no current ETA, we stated that these were on a sort of “hiatus” until we can nail down that ETA.
As soon as we have more in stock and available we will put them back up on the website. Again, our sincere apologies…If there is anything you need, feel free to let us know.Hope you have a great weekend!

you will really not see any dedicated Slingshot accessories supplier or manufacturer there. It's a very expensive show and the retail side is not big enough. We are a small market at this time. What can be found are possible suppliers or adaptable products that can be offered by our few retailers and suppliers.
And that is exactly why we are going

I was at SEMA last year and did not see anything related to the SS. I am hoping that I see SM and other vendors while out there this year.
We will not have any booth or anything like that, just walking around for marketing and to partner with new vendors. There was one slingshot there last year, not too sure if they will be any this year but there is hundreds of stuff to see and do at SEMA! Excited to see everything and everyone there!
-
Both myself and Brandon will be roaming around SEMA.. Wont be there all days, just the first and second of November!

@Casey_SS We are still working with Scosche to see what problem could be as its very limited number of people having issues, we are working with them to get a solution but as of right now a solution has not been found.
-
@slingmods are there install instructions?
Yes Scosche does provide an excellent set of instructions!
-
The unit itself would make a difference as Scosche did test with a pioneer unit which worked and yours didn't, so it appears to be some differences there.
We also learned this morning that Pioneer System Settings by default have the camera settings to off, did you ever turns those settings on your head unit? Please let us know.
-
Hey @Casey_SS
We need to know which Pioneer unit you have, could you please let us know when you can!
-
Should have them in our stock either by Tomorrow or Monday to ship out to you guys!
-
@Casey_SS Can you let us know which model in specific you have so we can further investigate them not working? Please let us know when you can!
-
This is heartbreaking to hear.. Spreading our condolences to friend and family..

I've not just e-mailed I also talked, and yes I may have reacted strongly. But in my opinion you make a promise you keep it. Also I send E-Mails where I stated that I'll let people know how I feel, I did post also positive things in the past regarding slingmods. I hope I can retract my opinion and inform everyone that a promise was kept.
@mytoy Resolution will be met. We will keep our promises, we always do. Just about every forum member here has purchased from us as well as over 13,000 non-forum Slingshot owners. You can bet we bust our butts to make sure all customers are handled, our product and store reviews are a direct reflection of our efforts and hard work.
You've trusted us 18 times with your repeat business... that's earned retention as you clearly saw something in us that was worth revisiting. Products aren't perfect and either are humans. Problems are inevitable and part of life. We understand that "character" is built based on the resolution of those problems.
It's very emotional for us to see our name dragged through the mud on a situation with such simple resolution. All we do everyday is try and create new products for the machine we love and the Slingshot owners across the country.. we take it very personally when we're attacked on a forum we feel we're also a part of. It's hurtful to say the least as we would NEVER say anything negative about any of customers.. especially on a public forum.
We will submit a new order today with Underground Auto to have a new wing made for you along with a return label for you to return the wing to us so that we can try and sell it on our clearance section as a "used item". This will provide you with resolution on all 3 fronts. 1. Prepaid label 2. Box to Return 3. New Wing
Please allow (2 weeks) for the item to be custom painted.
Thanks,
Keith -
Also I mounted the Wing already (holes drilled) so you will pay for a new rear deck? Also feel free to post the E-Mail where your company offered free shipping both ways.
here is a little more correspondence.
They can get a repair going for your wing that is not an issue, they just wouldn't have a box to provide to send to you to get it to them.. Do you have a box or able to get a box that the wing will fit in so we can get it going back to underground to get it fixed for you? We are trying to do the best and fast thing for you!
Thanks for the support!

E: support@slingmods.comHey Dieter,
Going back and forth with underground it might be easier and faster to refund you the $200 for the upcharge on paint and you could have it repainted locally? They would be about 2 weeks out plush shipping time. Would you want to go that route?
Thanks for the support!

E: support@slingmods.comHi,
How about they send me a new one in exchange, they have to paint the one I have anyhow, this way I'm not without the Wing.
Regards,
DieterHey Dieter,
We could not pay or reimburse you for the new deck piece, we are currently offering you a label to send it back for a full refund as we have already issued you a refund for the paint upcharge, please let us know if you would like to keep the wing to have the paint fixed to your liking or let us know and we can send you a label to get the wing back to us and then issue you the full refund. Please let us know what you would like to do..
-
Hey Dieter,
Our pre-paid label would be USPS or FedEx because we don't have accounts with UPS so a pre-paid label from us would come from FedEx most likely for this item. Yes that was offered to you, originally underground would repair your wing and since you didn't like that lead time they offered to send yours back and and to send you a new one, apologies if you were confused by that. Let us know if you would like to keep the wing to have it repainted to your liking or to have us send you a label to get it back for a full refund, that full refund would not happen until the wing is received back at either our Facility or Undergrounds facility..

Hey Dieter –
We first received word about this issue on Tuesday afternoon, and replied letting you know that we would get in touch with the manufacturer, as these are indeed custom made to order. Unfortunately with Underground Auto being in Florida, they had to prep for Hurricane Irma, and they weren’t able to get back to us right away. We did reassure you on Thursday (and prior) that we would take care of this situation for you no matter what.On Thursday, we received your email with you stating that you were one, going to dispute the charge through PayPal, or two, you wanted us to refund the full purchase cost less $150. This also included a note stating: “Please respond ASAP so I don’t have to post anywhere.”
Within the hour of your email, we informed you we had yet to hear back as we imagined they were still dealing with the Hurricane, with us stating “We will take care of you no matter what, please bare with us as we wait to hear back from underground. Underground auto always takes very good care of their customers, just right now they were affected by the hurricane so communicates are limited..”
I do understand this was shipped and delivered before the events of the hurricane, however, we made our best efforts to reach out to get this resolved with them ASAP while they were dealing with this horrific disaster. After hearing that Underground was OK on Friday and that they were starting to get back on their feet, they informed us they could do a few things. Issue a refund of $200 for the upcharge of the paint, or take it back and have it repainted for you.
We understand that you’re inconvenienced and that you’re unhappy with the final product result... and still stand by our guarantee by agreeing to pay for return shipping and have that product repainted for you or to give you a 100% refund of that product. We SlingMods and UnderGround Auto have offered you several amicable solutions to resolve this issue, none to your satisfaction. -
@slingmods - want to confirm, we can drive two 6.5" subs with the one MX300/1 amp?
I assume the amp requires dedicated power - is that correct?
Yes we are running (2) 4 ohm JL Audio 6.5" sub woofers with that amplifier! Here is the wiring diagram to run these in parallel at a 2 ohm load

A sun visor is one of those things that may not be used much.. but when it's needed it's a godsend! Whatta' ya guys think about this sun visor system? We installed it today and have some units on the way to us. It installs using a rubber coated hose clamp and mounts around the side frame bars of the Bullet, Twist and Fab Factory Tops. (fits any bar diameter from 1 1/4" to 2") It Takes about 5 minutes to install and has a 4-way adjustable system that allows you to block just about anything the sun can throw at ya. It also has tension knobs that allows you to tighten the movement of the visor to your desired tension! Let us know your thoughts! More information can be found here: Polaris Slingshot Sun Visor

Two 6" subs at 600w RMS tossed at them. I would say be pretty good for that small space. Bonus you get to keep your back storage.
haha. Yes.. they put out some serious bass. A great alternative to peeps wanting to keep the rear for storage. The smaller subs are also very responsive to faster bass notes. Perfect for Rock, Country or Hip Hop.
