After the senseless Kate Steinlee’s murder by an illegal alien we have yet another in the national eye - Mollie Tibitts. Our piss poor politicians failed to pass Kate’s Law allowing these animals (and yes I said and meant animals) are killing Americans on almost a daily basis. Does the fake news report on that - NOOOO - they report ICE ripped a father away from his pregnant wife on the way to the hospital to deliver. They don’t mention he was another illegal wanted for murder on a Mexican warrant. If you don’t agree with anything else Trump is for we have to get behind him on border security. If we let the Dems in power to open the borders to more undocumented Democrats it will be worse chaos than we have already. I feel sympathy for the Tibitts’ family and angry that this piece of shit was allowed to be here to commit this heinous crime. We should take him to the Mexican border and shoot him in the back of the head letting his body fall on Mexican soil. signed. PISSED TO THE MAX !!!

Let him live! But as a vegetable in Mexico.

I remember you didn't like the BFGs, but I thought you were also not fond of the kendas. Good to know about the Ripkens.

You have never heard me say anything bad about the Kenda's except for being in the rain because of the tread pattern. I have never even had a problem in the rain with them. I did an EDIT on the other post.

Gerald, you're running kendas at the track? Interesting.

Yes, I had the same Kenda on the rear of the SS on the last track day. One - it has more tread width than most of the other tires of the same size. Two - It is sticky when hot and the tread itself makes for good traction on the track. I will take all anyone will give me for the track days. I had the BFG Comp Two's on the front last time and did not like them. I had taken the BFG off of the rear to put on the Kenda, glad I did. I also have the full set new Riken Raptor's that I bought a few months ago. I liked them so much I have already bought another rear for a spare. Good traction and a lot better rain tire than the Kenda. IMHO. If you have not figured it out, I have two sets of tires and rims. One set for local and the other for more traction in the hills.

Thanks @Ross you are so correct and to the others, just remember that What Goes Around Will Come Back To You.

I find it very interesting that with all of the people here and all of the time the Slingshot has been out that we still do not seem to have any consensus on what the top speed of a stock slingshot is.
I just think it is really odd that we havent a large number of people find a nice long flat road and try to settle this, but then again I havent so I cant really complain can I

I have run over 5 miles in 5 th gear and the max speed was maybe just over 120 MPH. I have also done this in 4 th gear and still the top speed is just on the north side of 120 MPH. OH! it has been settled on the forums just how fast the stock Slingshot will go. With a REAL good tailwind you may get to 130 but I doubt it.

The easy way to set up the mirrors is to first center up the mirror itself in the housing, then loosen up the stalk bolt and push out or pull in until you just barely see the body work on the inside of the mirror and then tighten the bolt back down. Then you do the final adjustment with the mirror moving inside of the housing to get the rear view that you would like. It has been a while since anyone has posted this procedure so that any of the new owners would know how to do the adjustment. I hope this helps some of you. RIDE SAFE AND WATCH OUT FOR THE OTHER DRIVER

It does get super light toward the end of the run. I gently moved my steering wheel to put me more in the center of my lane and it really over corrected. You just need to get your lane position worked out before you get to 100 and then lock your arms in the rest of the way. We did have a crosswind to deal with but it didn't bug me as bad as it did Kyle. That may have been because I'm kinda used to crosswinds on the interstate I run on at night alot.

What is the possibility of cutting off the power steering when making these runs?

I just talked to @MACAWS and the good thing is we maybe able to tag along with another class of race cars in a series of different tracks, there will be some things we may have to do to be able to do this. He will explain more about it later, he is a little busy today in New York. So we need to let everyone know who maybe interested in doing this. So we need to get the word out about this.

Oohh, oohh, i know, i know!
Flooded batteries, if leaking, will explode (right in your f&$%!ng face) when electricity is applied in the form of sparking at the positive terminal.

Ask me how i know.... :cursing:

Is that what happened to the HAIR? :D

Well apparently the compressor is okay - the guy who came out got it up and running at no charge - said the AC guy that checked it yesterday who said the current was was too high was trying to sell us a new unit - that is until he found out we had the warranty - Todays guy said he checked all the current and everything was within the proper range had my wife take a cell snap so I could see

house should be cool when I get home and hopefully it will last

For some of the folks that want to reduce the cooling cost of your home. Install the largest air filter that you can to increase the air flow across the unit. No restrictions on the air flow equals max cooling, less work for the unit. Also if you can shade any part of the AC unit that is outside, do it. That will also save you some money. Most of the return air filters installed in the homes are too small and restrict the air flow across the AC unit so if you can increase the filter size do it. There is no way to make the LARGE return air filter pretty. Another benefit is how quite it will be when the unit is running. Your AC guy will probably tell you this is BS but believe me it works. I built a box that looks like an end table over the floor return so that I could double the size of my return filters and now I do not even hear the unit when it is running. Do not have any restrictions like doors with cut in return holes blocking the return air.

Disclaimer: They SHOULD have let the SS participate.
BUT...........Just because the SS is registered as a motorcycle in SOME states, doesn't make it one. It's a 3-wheel car! It has a 5-speed manual shift like an auto, roll bar, seat belts, and your passenger sits to your side, as well as being wider than a Corvette in front. All the other vehicles you mentioned being allowed had saddles for seats, passenger sitting to the rear, AND a motorcycle shift system. I'm just sayin! :>)

You do not really get it do you? It was for VETERANS to raise money, but if you were a VETERAN and showed up in a Slingshot, YOU DID NOT COUNT.

you know @'edwardaneal I couldn't agree more with that line of thinking , and with the track days too. I always wondered as they are Polaris first entry into high speed autos about tie rod strength , ball joints, handling issues etc and when I see the punishment alot of these machines are put through on a daily basis , I am absolutely impressed, and when put into proportion with the constant whining of some about a few loose screws etc Give me a break!

70,000 miles and have never really had any problems, except for the recalls. Well there was that ditch, last year.

Thanks all. That is what I meant about should have read this before installing. None of the install directions mentioned this and my 2017 didn't have an locking collars on it, so I didn't know. Need to fix the bent parts and get me some locking collars.

Install the links in the straighest up position that does not hit anything.

So the new DDM turbo install starts tomorrow at DDM. So Pumped! I'll be down to SC in a week to pick it up. We will be going with the Welter dual rear exhaust, but it will have to be custom fitted in the rear in order to work.

I'll be riding back to Michigan through the mountains. Does anyone have any suggestions on roads I just have to hit? I can go a bunch of different ways home so there are a lot of options.

Photos of fender delete covers from Bullet. Not sure how I feel about them yet. I'll have to reserve judgement until I see it in person.

Hwy.276 North from Greenville for starters

Guess I should have read this thread before contacting @Dave@DDMWorks, as I had mine swing about 4 inches side to side. My bigger issue is that the links bolts actually bent there was so much force on them. Installed according to directions/pictures. Anyone have a sway bar link bolt bend? I tried to get the nuts loose, so now I have loose nuts, but man the thing is f'd. They were tight when I first put them on. Anyone have this happen? Sent images to DDM last week, but haven't heard anything.

You should have the sway bar locks/collars installed to keep the bar from drifting from side to side. They keep the sway bar centered.
