What do you mean?!? This subject should have been settled forever ago. A stock Slingshot will go as fast as 4th gear allows. Many people have done this many times. 4th gear ends right around 135mph. If you are heading down a mountain, you can pick up some more speed in 5th gear. But should that really count?!
On a different note. Below is a good video of another aerodynamically challenged vehicle. Some of the findings here in the wind tunnel may shed some light on where the Slingshot may have issues on cutting through the wind.
Damn @TravAZ. That's one of the best, most informative videos I've seen. It's interesting to note the HP necessary to get it to the speeds they were achieving. ... thanks for the find .

It does get super light toward the end of the run. I gently moved my steering wheel to put me more in the center of my lane and it really over corrected. You just need to get your lane position worked out before you get to 100 and then lock your arms in the rest of the way. We did have a crosswind to deal with but it didn't bug me as bad as it did Kyle. That may have been because I'm kinda used to crosswinds on the interstate I run on at night alot.

@Kyle D and @rabtech, So just some food for thought. I've been contemplating removing the front fenders altogether and leaving just the hood (haven't gotten the nerve to cut off the fender subframe plus I need to find a good source for a bit of fiberglass work up front).... have either of you tried running without them, even just taking them off and leaving the subframe ? I wonder if that might settle things down a bit (less drag) and give you a bit more speed at top end.

So 185 kph would be just under 115 mph... that sounds about right for a stock sling...hmmm probably was the same guy... .
-
I've been wondering if either @rabtech or @Kyle D has had the opportunity to run it out to see what the actual top speed might be. There were claims over on TDS of 185 which pretty much everyone called BS on, even though the guy stuck to his guns on his claim. It seems y'all might be able to hit something like that without the half mile limitation...
185 in kilometers maybe . Probably the same guy that was going around posting a video claiming really high speeds in a slingshot... that was in KPH .

No... Because you don't really need to go to the bathroom... Do you?
I show this to my teachers from time to time...
We aren't in it for the money... So lay off me and my gently used mods...

Congratulations heather. I have many educators in my family and know the selfless dedication and time it takes to be in education. My hat's off to you ma'am... now.... <<raises hands>>> May I go to the restroom

Thank you everyone for the well wishes. It’s not everyday one turns 30. Hope they’re as great as my 20’s.

Hats off to both of you for breaking new ground for those of us that are in constant search of more power and speed. I’m both envious as well as happy as shit for your success. Great job to all of you that have been working hard to achieve this.

Feliz cumpleanos hermano. Espero que tengas gran dia
Muchísimas gracias hermano. Espero que sigas bien.

Hey @jorgebri60 I just have to say...thats a damn nice looking sling!
SSREAPERThank you sir!.. I kinda like it too

Add a wycked hitch and tow a trailer. Capacity issues are gone! Momma gets to carry a couple of full size suitcases as well as extra helmets, rain and cold weather gear... tools, etc.

He plays a better game of volleyball? Of course, being an aviator, he has time to practice stuff like that. Damn flyboys.
Hey Hey there now!!!! I resemble that remark

Soooo, this has been on my bucket list for a while now... I have the power, just need the traction.. care to disclose $$$ and times.. Pm if better.
Thank you. I have the basic cost from their website, just wondering what real world cost was. -

I don't really agree on trailering behind another trailer... I know... people do it all the time, but I've been behind, not one, but 2 trailers behind trailers where for whatever reason the rear most trailer (in this case it would be the slingshot) get crazy and something bad happened. In one case, the trailer plain tore off the leading trailer, in the last case, the dune buggy that was in the back trailer broke off and rolled end over end in front of me. I literally stopped freeway traffic so that no one would run into it...so ... NAH... not for me.

So looks like you're leaning more towards the direction I ended up in. I paid $7k for a new 14' auto width trailer and used @MACAWS method of adding stuff to it to my liking. I could have added an RV door, windows, Different Electrical, AC/Etc to it. About All I did did was have them insulate and panel the roof and add additional interior/Exterior Lighting. The rest I did. Flooring, Painting, Etc. I'm still lacking the Shelving/Cabinets etc, but I plan on doing the same thing you're thinking of: Hauling the Trailer/Sling wherever and using it as a camper should I not be near a hotel somewhere. So far, haven't made it to the camping part... we always end up near a hotel... imagine that . Up to now, we've used it during the day as protection from the elements and then put stuff away and head to a hotel somewhere. We'll spend the night eventually . There's plenty of room and capacity for adding some other amenities as needed but for now, I typically haul a a canopy, some chairs, a table, and a small box of camping gear: lights, stove, etc.. and the trailer becomes sort our little rest area protected from the elements. My 1/2 ton GMC has an ARE Camper shell which is also also Lighted and Insulated as well as It has a Bedrug in it. Basically, that's our bed. Somewhere in those trailer postings are pictures of my setup, but you really should take a look at @MACAWS. Anything's possible if you have the time and the know how to do it.
Good Luck!
