You need to ask yourself some difficult questions to determine your course of action. Try to answer as honestly as possible:

    1) Do I really like this wife?

    2) If so, what is the chance of her actually leaving?

    3) Is sleeping in the Big Bed your first choice?

4)Would a change in partners be an upgrade or a downgrade?

5)Would a change in partners involve a major financial hit?

Only when you have this information clearly in front of you can you make the proper decisions. Choose wisely young Jedi!

Oh the memories. A little known fact about the Yugo. It was the first company to have a rear windshield defroster as standard equipment. When the engineers were questioned for making that decision, their response was that market research showed that a substantial amount of these vehicles would be sold to customers in regions that have cold winters. They figured that the real possibility of the cars to break down in the winter would highly benefit having the rear windshield defroster so people who helped push the cars would have hand warmers to keep them comfortable. :):):)

I did not see that one coming! Sorry Edward Neal but it's not a legit thread until it's been derailed at least once.

    It sure does change things....

Anything over city is asking for trouble...it’s so easy to get carried away...

Well since your propensity towards getting tickets is directly proportional to your available performance metrics, I guess you should have bought a Yugo...

You can even get a drop-top.

I think eco mode is a marketing angle to make it seem like it has more functions than it really does. Want to sell more? Put 'eco' or 'green; in your description. I have no interest whatsoever in this function and mine will never see it. I mean who buys something to go faster then expect it to save fuel? I recently posted this on the other thread:

And as far as using eco mode on cruise control on the freeway, I don't see how it would improve fuel economy. As it is only a throttle controller that speeds up, or slows down throttle response, and not a mapping device, it seems to me that the only potential benefit to fuel economy would be to slow down acceleration. Once at a specific speed, so much energy (horsepower) is required to move the machine a specific distance. Throttle control is no longer part of the equation at that point. My guess is that once you get up to speed and hold it constant, the Pedal Commander would have no effect whether it's on or off.

    Present from slingmods just arrived

    Pedal commander

I'm impressed. Let us know what you think.

For those of you who purchased this beware that there are a few people(on youtube) allegedly having issues with their throttle position controller after changing modes on the fly(while driving) and getting CEL.

One person even had some weird issue which caused a system wide electronic malfunction while driving and almost caused a "crash".

None of them are slingshot but the technology is the same for everyone so I would limit my changes to only when the vehicle is parked.

Neosolidus can you clarify between parked and engine off?

I've heard they work on vettes too.

How ya doing BryanL ? The Sling could use this - the vette needs it! I was surprised how much throttle input (pedal) it takes to wake it up. The LS3 motor turns such low rpm that you need to kick it hard enough to drop a gear or two before it launches. I see why the manual is the choice for the enthusiast, but with a lifetime of driving sticks it's time to relax a little. It does have the paddle shifter for a straight-line giddyup.

We're looking forward to the Trans Siberian Orchestra concert you're taking us to next month. Do you two have a dinner place in mind?

Doug, you won't regret the purchase! It's going to be warmer this afternoon and I'm going out to play. I'm already pricing a new rear tire!

Sweet! It's raining pretty steady out here and I'm leaving Friday for a 9 day Elk season so I may not get to try it out in the 30 day return period. That's one reason I waited to hear more feedback. I'm sure it won't disappoint!

Smoke 'em if you got 'em! :00007505:

Well I'm in. Are you happy you bunch of enablers? And I've been doing so good this year enjoying the Sling in it's current incarnation. I believe if you go back in this thread, I never said I was ready to buy. I just acknowledged the possibility based on the product description. Next thing I know my name is on the list and I didn't feel it was necessary to have it removed. I didn't want to let the group down and when it filled so quickly, figured I could hide in anonymity. Slingmods has obviously fulfilled their desire for 20 units and more. So I waited for your reviews and dadgummit, no one has pooh-poohed the product or it's performance. I waited to hear from maverick5990 , a well respected OG who hangs out with the boosted boys and Edward Neal who does not have a predisposition toward mods. Two more thumbs up. It's all about smiles per mile and I certainly don't want to miss an opportunity to up mine! Bring it!

I just came back from Tejas. Second time there in 59 years so I'm not due to return until 2049. I'll bring the Metamucil...

I also have the Digital Guard Dog and am happy with the convenience and security. It's nice not having to dig the key out of my pocket to start the Sling. I chose not to install the $70 key override harness so as to have the additional benefit of security from not being able to hotwire the ignition which is disabled at the key. I put my activation switch right in front of the keyhole on the steering column as it is natural to reach for that location when starting.

Be aware that you will still need your key to lock/unlock the glovebox and storage compartments and be sure to test out your manual override before actually needing it. This is a series of switching off/on as set by the dealer which can be reprogrammed to your own 2 digit code. I started mine up one day and drove 20 miles from home and shut it off only to find out that my fob was hanging on my keyboard just inside the garage door close enough to activate the ignition but I could not restart it. When I tried the manual override it did not work so either it is not functional or I reset it to a new code and did not notate it in the instructions. Guard Dawg told me they can reset it for a $59 charge but I would have to send it to them so it's a winter thing if I don't figure the code out (you can try 3 times then it locks out for 5 minutes so a thief can't just try codes until it starts).

Great mod and I'd buy it again.
