There's an easy work-around if you're interested. You could put joist hangers under the 2x6s at the wall. Tear off the sheeting and put up LockDry aluminum decking. It's waterproof and can go on 24" centers.

Yeah, someone else suggested using joist hangers also, but I've decided against the idea of hanging out up there.
