Windscreens

  • I have a F4+5. I put the madstad adjustable on and love it. The f4 was just too hot in Laredo, needed the air in cabin and this one works great. Not sure here in Arkansas if I might need again but both are clear and work fine. then just wear your sunglasses

  • IMO, the MadStad Single Adjustable windshield doesn't really need a vent since you can adjust how much air comes under the windshield by raising or lowering it. I drilled a second set of mounting holes a little higher up that allowed me to mount the windshield lower to the body for cold weather use, but I ended up placing the holes so far up that the windshield ended up too low and I needed to raise the windshield before opening the hood.

IIRC, F4Customs was toying around with modding a Gold Wing vent to fit their windshields. I have the NASCAR style Tallboy +2 now and bought some round Vetter vents and a Honda Gold Wing windshield vent. The Vetter vents friction fit into an appropriately sized hole and then can be pushed open a little for airflow (they're also used on light airplanes for ventilation). The Gold Wing vents can be bought for as low as around $25 +/-, but come in 2 different models and I can't remember which version is flatter. They also require a more complex hole.
