I don't have any complaints with OEM lug nuts. Changed my rear tire and had no issues. Just use common sense when removing and installing.
Lug nuts are terrible. Change them while you can.

I ordered the same ones that Macas had listed. When I put them on I noticed they looked to small so I put two of the stock ones back on. I think I will use only one of the new lug nuts for security and call it a lesson learned.... not to jump to quick, and let someone else be the test dummy.
-
I am not really sure it is a problem as they have the correct pitch.
I will keep looking around to see if I can get a better answer - but they will definitely fit, Just not sure if there was an option for a larger base that I missed -
Did you check with the folks at FBM?
-
No I have to give them a call - just been a little crazy busy
Work definitely interferes with my sling life -

Be careful. I pull my wheels off to clean behind them and to clean the calipers good every other week or so. I agree that if you re very careful you might be fine. But they will bite you all at once when they get wore a tiny amount... And it sucks so bad to have to drill them ... Its just too cheap not change them with good lug nuts if you are like me and remove them very often.
I promise I have good 6 point sockets...I even have some of them fancy Corwell and Snap-On sockets. They will start to slip on these because they have they outer coating... The outer coating will eventually deform.

Just got off the phone with them and they said they are very close to stock at the base
-
@MACAWS did you get a different lug nut that I have? It looks similar to mine.
The part # is 21123C they fit fine but the base was much smaller than stock so I was a little concerned
you can see the difference in the picture
But I am running stock base rims so I thought maybe the SL wheels were different -
They work at 130mph and in a nut crushing mega gforce turn. I promise.
-
I ran them on my SL wheels. They have plenty of contact area.

That is all I needed to hear. If they can pass the RAB TEST then they are overkill for me.
as soon as I am done cleaning the wheels and giving here a once over - I will install them. Thanks
-
HEY. They have the same exact contact area. The bevel area is exactly the same as the stock lug. When you put them on you will see what I'm saying.

Hey let me throw this disclaimer out there.
If you put them on I'm not responsible for them not working. Everyone needs to do their own checking and make sure they work for them. They did work perfectly on my stock SL wheels.

I will double check but if the part number for the stock lug nuts on the SL and base are the same then I will assume the rims have the same opening and they will work. I only questioned it because no one ever mentioned the difference in size so I figured I screwed up as always.
However your disclaimer is well noted! -
I think i remember seeing that the stock lug catches the black part on the stock lug.
And the new lug catches the same black area.

I have @Bill Martins phone number.....

Like I said. Each person needs to do what THEY feel is safe. I will be rolling swift and steady with the new lugs nuts.
