Made it home safely. No drama. WOW!!!! What a wonderful Meet and Greet!! Thank you @Slej and @Smoochie for the Tumblers! They look awesome. Will post pics for all to see real soon. I believe you, especially with all the mods on the back of your Sling. Still better than tracing all the wiring looking for a cut or a ground, though.
Do you have to take your bags off the back to access the battery compartment?

No. It's just the normal. Two pop rivets, two number thirty torx bolts, a 13 wrench to get the holding block loose, then a 13 to tighten the connection. It's almost enough to make you do it right the first time. Almost.
