Master cylinder leaking small amount after bleeding brakes

  • Has anybody experienced the master cylinder dripping a little down the firewall after bleeding the brakes? We pumped them up to get the fluid to the back wheel and then I Mighty-Vac-ed it from there and now I am seeing a small amount of dripping on the firewall from the back of the master cylinder.

I'm assuming it's just from completely compressing the brake pedal and the master cylinder rod went to an unhappy place.

And to confirm, it is NOT a leaky connection, it is coming from the master cylinder boot/rod.

    Thanks

Edit: Update in case anybody finds this during a search.

Looks like my assumption above was correct. It is not leaking anymore. My educated guess is there is part of the rod when fully depressed that may not be machined quite so great so when you depress the brake pedal to the floor it is allowing a little brake fluid to pass by.

    Everything is good now.
