I wear bifocals because I'm too cheap to pay for progressive lenses even though they're now much cheaper than they used to be. I also wear bifocal sunglasses with a mirror finish that seems to really accentuate the bifocal lenses. I've had young people ask me what the funny squares are on my sunglasses!
Sunglasses - polarized or not?

My Wife has work progressive lenses for years, but I am used to the defining line between the close and distant portion of the lenses. When I first started using bifocals, I was warned that some folks have trouble getting used to the more gradual change in focus between the close and distant zones and have just stuck with bifocals. My Wife actually uses trifocals for close, mid-range and distant focuses which progressive lenses support nicely.

I hate polarized sunglasses but know I am in the minority. Too many years behind a helmet visor, plexi windshields on bikes and boats, and having to look over them to read displays. Certain window tints become opaque not allowing you to see in, and many windshields turn in to pride flags. Just don't like the way they alter the view. Instead I get Crizal coating put on everything I wear.
