I was thinking something like this, will it work? It's all marine grade? I really don't know but like the looks of the speakers. :D Thanks

The one thing to worry about with random chinese amps is their build quality and how clean of a sounds they will output, that one specifically has horrible reviews on amazon and one of the things people complaint is that it gets too hot to touch within minutes of starting it.

Amps that get too hot will cut out/not work on days when you park your SS outside since right away the thermal protection will kick in.

This is one of the reason i love JL Amps, they run cool and can take a beating and still perform flawlessly.

OMG...... Just made it home or at least some of me did, I am convinced that some parts of me froze and broke off.

Once I am defrosted I will get rid of the Ducati pic for one of the sling

Here is a thought that didn't cross my mind but gf suggested(save the jokes for later...) why not have it towed!

What is the normal clearance of the SS, i imagine that it would not make it up the incline of a normal flatbed without loosing the front bumper.

One of the companies i called says that they have a "low profile" attachment for vehicles that have had their suspension lowered but don't know for sure if it will work for the SS since they have never towed a SS.

Any thoughts against this idea, anything in particular that i should keep an eye out for if i do tow it home(as in something that i should tell the driver in how to secure the SS) or should i just take the chill pill and wait two weeks?

    @rabtech @MACAWS any advise?

    Thanks in advance!

Yeah, i am heading there mainly to just finish the paperwork in case polaris decides to change their promotions come monday, i think one of the things i am getting right now is a 2500 rebate and would piss me off if they remove it on the 1st and bring back their "free Ext Warranty" instead......

assuming the streets are dry(it was just a light dusting that we had) I will be having a 2 cars escort me (one in front and back) to give me some safe driving room and hopefully avoid any tailgating @$$wipe from driving too close or honking to kingdom come due to slow driving.

as it stand now(without seeing the roads) the most dangerous part is my driveway(concrete/slate with an uphill slant).

I won't take any chances if i35 is wet i won't drive it but if i don't take it home today it might be 1-2 weeks due to work and bad weather forecasted(lol), which would drive me absolutely insane knowing that it is rdy and just sitting at the dealer, specially with packages arriving today and tuesday from amazon, fixmytoys,Slingshotonly,Alpha and DDMtuning(lights place not the engine ppl).
Here in MN jan 1-15 is usually when we get a bad case of -F, usually in the -10 to -20f before windchill.

Just got back from Walmart. Wife is still snoring. I don't think she understands the importance of being at the dealer one hour before they open to pick up the truck.

Most just don't get it, i got a text late last night from my dealer saying they were getting the swingarm in today(WOOT!) and if all goes well the Sling will be rdy to be picked up by noon.

So i told the everyone that our trip Lutsen is being delayed until i pick up the Sling, got the usual response of " why can't you wait until next week"..... I swear i had tear in my eyes until she said fine and roll her eyes.

We had a little snow last night, i am hoping that the i35 is clear....... so if you drive by and see a Sling doing 30MPH on the interstate that is me cause i am taking my time because i am definitely not going to test the grip of the stockers.

Speaker Level Input means that you can just Tap your wires going to the factory side speakers and connect that directly to the input ports of the amplifier, the other type of input would be Low Level Input(RCA).

Personally i don't know of any "good" marine class amplifier that has low level inputs which is why i recommended the converters with the JL Amps which are amps that i currently use on my boat and are great, small, efficient and the current price on amazon of 149.99 is a steal(i paid north of 300 for them a few years ago ).

To be honest this is very simple and if you want we can walk you through it, you can watch a video of someone doing a car amp install on youtube so you have a general idea and just apply that to the SS.

In my opinion the hardest thing would be making up your mind about the components since we all have our opinions regarding brands...

To be honest just like a motorcycle(lol) if someone wants to steal it there is not much you can do to prevent it, add a GPS tracker is about the best thing you can do and you have to be vigilant and catch them in the add for it to be useful since once they find it they will just toss it.

Those security alarms just help prevent kids from sitting on it or makes noise if someone kicks the tires etc not really theft deterrent.

BOT: Please add pictures/descriptions to the OP as well as a VIN# so we can all keep an eye and sorry for your lost!

A simple way to add these would be to buy 2 line level input converter, connect to the factory speakers to convert the signal to RCA then you can send that to an amp

Great amp have it in the boat

    https://www.amazon.com/PAC-SNI…ywords=line+out+converter ~$10

    https://www.amazon.com/Polk-Ma…keywords=Polk+Audio+DB652

I have JL C2 in my boat and after hearing a buddy of mine who has the DB6502 in his boat i truly think they sounds better than my C2 and are half the price, JL loyalist will say that this is blasphemy but w/e to my untrained ear the polk sound better.

personally I will also be changing the head unit which will eliminate the need for line converters, my problem now is that i can't decide on a head unit.

My needs are (GPS/Nav or Mirror cast to show the map from cell), Rear Camera,USB media(ipod) playback, bluetooth support, also needs to have a plain facia (no dials) so it can work with the splash proof enclosure.

Nope never new about it, but just glancing at it i can tell that at least one of the places that supposedly carries it, does not and in fact has shitty gasoline according to my fuelly fuelup reports(freedom value gas station in 61N)

Bit i am for sure try to keep an eye and aim to get ethanol free if i can now.

    Thanks K2

As I was told by a good mechanic friend. Higher octane is the result of advanced timing in the tuning on this GM engine. Always used that in my bikes as well. Sea foam is also a great cleaner.

Also for places like here in MN/WI where all gas stations have 10% to 15% Ethanol using anything but premium is like asking for trouble, hell even the premium we get around here is quite shitty(91 Oct in most instances), everytime i hear people talking about 93/94 Oct makes me jealous.

I know down south you can get gas without ethanol but i don't know of any gas station here that doesn't have it.

personally i hate lucas's products since back in the late 90's it killed an Alfa Romeo Spider which i adored , it had a bad reaction with the oil and pretty much locked the engine due to sludge.

Whether that was a freak of nature type of thing or bad oil or whatever i don't know, all i know is that it happened after the oil change + lucas treatment.

If you need to clean or just to do it once in a while Seafoam will work wonders on injectors, shitty carburetor(revives my vintage Triumph every time) or engines that have sludge and you need to do a flush.

I put seafoam on anything that will be stored, i do not empty the gas tanks unlike a lot of people, because IMNHO condensation/moisture will do more harm to the empty tanks than having a full tank+seafoam.

I don't know about the slingshot since i don't yet have one(grrrr) but for all my other vehicles and bikes i will always use premium(heck even my riding mower/snowblower use it) it has never been about performance but about the fact that it will keep the injectors cleaner while also providing a better MPG( if that is even a thing on a sport car/suv), I am also quite adamant about certain brands of gasoline being better than others(Mobil,Costco,BP) = good. SuperAmerica,Freedom, random Mom&Pops = bad

For example i have tracked the miles of almost all our vehicles using Fuelly - Track and Compare your MPG and based on the data Superamerica has the worst possible gas in the state of MN(consitently 2-3 MPG less than costco which is my preferred brand due to convenicence).

For my boat there is a 3-5MPG difference between getting gas a the local river station vs bringing my own from costco.

I am also one of those that firmly believes that not all brands of fluids are created equal and that synthetics needs to go on EVERY darn possible thing(Mobil Fluids on everything).

also given the fact that prices are so close between "cheap gas and premium gas" it is just irresponsible not to go for the good stuff, in my opinion is cheap insurance, kind of like waxing your car/s during winter to protect the finish from salt damage here in the northern states.

Good looking Sling there @Tripod to date the Nuclear orange is the best looking stock color of all SS IMNHO , on a separate note, which wheels/tires are those on your sling(size and if you don't mind me asking where did you get them)?
