We have an independent agent here looking for cheaper rates and she can not find anyone to insure the SS. I have State Farm myself

I've heard from Blake at the 1/2 mile challenge and he is open to allowing us to do our Slingshot Challenge. That's great news. I have asked Jeff Arean aka @Joker to get back in touch with Polaris and see what sort of commitment they are willing to throw at us..... so they originally seemed open to doing so sort of race involvement..... I'll keep my fingers crossed. But at least it is moving forward and Ill keep you guys updated since so many of you seem to be anti-Facebook
Got better things to do than play on facebook. LIKE RIDE! This forum is more than enough. (B.S.)

@MACAWS I see that you will be back on the 14. Do you still plan on the 20-22 for a little the ride in the HILLS? And Where?

Now a days "calling" is a foreign concept, I know that personally I don't have the time nor patience to play phone tag with answering machines/systems.
A phone call takes several minutes where a text/email takes seconds.A business who can't promptly answer emails or text is a business most people avoid now a days, the only phone calls I do/pickup are work related conference calls.
I am just opposite, if you can not answer the phone you will not have my business. I do not talk to machines.

How about the 3.6 v6 that GM uses in the Camaro? Over 300 horses to start, lots of hop up parts for it and easy to get. GM 3.6 Liter V6 LFX Engine Info, Power, Specs, Wiki | GM Authority
It does not sound like a V-8

As long as it doesn't have boost.... me no worry.
MAYBE, It has a driver that likes crooked roads, then you would lose.

Why don't you just install one of the small volt meters and have a readout all of the time. Size is about 3/4 wide by 1 1/4 inch long, they are on E-Bay and Amazon. Easy to install about any where you want and what I remember about $ 5. They also have them to plug into the Assy. plug. if it happens to be where you can see it.

A little more info on the the little Buick 215 Alum. engine from 1961. Rover did use the casting up until a few years ago. It was also used in the Indy 500 by Mickey Thompson in 1962.
-
How about the little Buick Alum.V-8 from around 1964. Land Rover according to the Hot Rod magazine produced it up till a few years ago. Performance parts are also available for it.

I've had some, radio, tech guys look at my one and they say, it's a problem with the radio re booting.
Polaris must be aware, of how it is happening, by now, as too many radios have this problem. Unfortunately, it re boots to the US standard settings, all the time, so is no dam good and therefore, NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE, in Europe.I have already had mine changed under warranty, also @Summer Breeze had his changed last week

I just ordered another Riken Raptor for the rear while I can still get it.
-
Who has installed a rear spoiler? if so, what kind, advise, and pictures
I think the rear needs something... But I am not sure what direction to go
If you would please use the search function there are already about 10 threads on this.

I'm located in South Florida, so the heat is a problem.
I am considering the hood vent that is advertised on some web sites.
I will look into some of these other options y'all mentioned, but thought maybe the ready made hood vent would help. A little concerned about the effects of rain getting in through it as we get caught in downpours more than we would like.Do not worry about the rain, no problems in three years.

The new R-Shot Ride or Die Footrest allows your passenger tostretch out and enjoy the ride as if they were in the driver seat. Madefrom steel and powder coated textured black for long durability.
The idea originated from our very own @KayTwo, … he chargedR-Shot Accessories to design a strong footrest that is easy to install andcomes with the tools needed to make this a painless installation. (Thanks again @KayTwo)
The newR-Shot Ride or Die Footrest gives the passenger the ability to stretch aleg out and catch some breeze. Perfect for most adults from 5' 5" to6' 2" in height. The easy installations of this product isincredible, and the tools you receive with this product makes it quick andpainless effort. Some effort is needed to get your hands in the small cavity to place the bracket around the 1.5" frame and close the bracket with the longer M6 bolt attached. The tools are not thetypical short Allen Wrenches you get with cheap DIY furniture setups. The tools are long handle 9"+ Allen Wrenches. Asmentioned earlier the foot plate is made from cold rolled steel - thisfootrest is durable and is powder coated textured black and comes with asoft pad option. All hardware is stainless steel and the bracket is madefrom aluminum and as always you receive FULL color instructions with pictures.
This setup is for the passenger side, however if you have an automatic transmission this is without a doubt an awesome modification you cannot go without. I will update the website for those who have an automatic transmission and wish to stretch the driver's leg. I don't recommend the drivers side if you still have a 5 speed.... this might cause major challenges for the less skilled driver - and R-Shot Accessories doesn't wish to be liable. For all other skilled drivers @FunCycle and many other and Auto Transmission Slingshot, @rabtech and @Dave@DDMWorks - this is THE ONE... R-Shot Ride or Die Footrest!
Shipping on 17 July - Pre-Order!Forall models; 2015 - 2018

I like that. I drive with cowboy boots most of the time and before I put the fenders on I use to hang the boot heel on the splash guard fender.

Mine locked up last year and put me in a ditch on a long sweeper. The right wheel dug in and I did a 180 in the air, luckly I did not get hurt or do too much damage to the SS. Only about $5,000 to replace the parts. Everything was still conneted and the steering was pretty much center after the event. Loading the SS onto the rollback and unloading at @Ruptured Ducks house the steering would not turn to the left or the right. Sometime after at the dealers they said and @Ruptured Duck went and checked that the steering was working. I am 99% certain that the steering locked up. I have tried my best to duplicate what happened and can not unless the steering was locked. I was very lucky.

Have a very good day, and OH! Happy Birthday

Glad you finally stated that @FunCycle... I have the JRI clickers (came with Sling) and have thought the ride isn't as soft as everyone claims with aftermarket shocks... Even when clicked all the way to soft, like you say.
Think I want a soft ride, but we'll see... Changing my red springs to some silver ones next week!
Almost like saying you are floating with the QA-1
-
Ride comfort is going to be mostly based on the individual. Some guys (and ladies) like equal tightness/stiffness in both the front and the rear, while some prefer one or the other a little softer/looser.
Just make some changes and see what feels better.... But there are some rides that no amount of squishy shock is going to fix... Just sayin.
A good thing that @Tripod is not around!
-
Paying forward at its finest....awesome!
DO you think you upgraded up or down...I know it may be too soon to say.SSREAPER
IMHO the QA-1 has the better ride but if you drive like I do in the twisties the JR-1 is probably the better choice
