I drove Trent's SS because I really wanted to see how the sc felt. He had told me about his wheel and tire combo but I really wasn't thinking about that as much as seeing how the sc changed the actual increased hp feel. I have to say, I was amazed at how well the rear tire hooked up. 8o The power is smooth and instant. I expected the tire to break loose and just spin but that wasn't how it works. Of course you spin the tire some but I have been able to do that with almost all of my 52 vehicles over the years. This power felt more like my last 427 Vette. You are immediately pinned back and every shift was the same. My wife loved it too and said I need the sc on my Sling (which she wants and wants me to get another one).
Thanks to Trent I may have to go back to work to pay for all this. ;(

Found out the seams are coming apart on my Alpha side exit. This explains the sudden noise and vibration on that side. Talked to Henry and he is rushing a new muffler to me so I can put it in Thursday and leave at 6am Friday. Would have been an awful long 900 miles with the muffler falling apart.

Thanks @Slingrazor for helping us out. I was really surprised at the difficulties we had and also very glad we found out the new clutch issues before we pulled mine apart ( sorry Bill).
@Slingrazor and I have changed numerous clutchs before but never ran into issues like these. Who would have thought a clutch made for this engine could be 2mm too thick and wouldn't work. Plus, you would think GM would have a better clutch actuator or at least keep them in stock.
We are going to change mine this coming Monday so that it will be ready for the ride to Maggie Valley and back. My wife has been looking forward to this ride and I don't want a breakdown.
Thanks again Trent! And you did help Bill. We had some great stories and all of us learned a lot!
When y'all get to meet/see us in MV be sure to ask how we feel about turbos and super chargers
(Second pic was about 2:00 am Friday. Right before we pulled the engine the fifth time I believe)

@dangerdarrell, there is plenty of information on how it attaches in the eBay post I linked to. They even give various formulae and values for the unit. Perhaps you didn't read far enough into it? The unit bolts to the concrete floor, the anchors are threaded so they stay in the floor when you unbolt to posts.

Yeah. I didn't read far enough. Anchors in the floor would be no problem. There wouldn't be a trip hazard and you could just put some plugs in to keep out the dirt. I have 11' from floor to ceiling with the garage door closed so that would be great.

@Deputy5211, the Dannmar looks great but what keeps it stable? Looks like it wouldn't be that hard to tip over. They don't have a lot of info on it.

    Welcome.
If you are looking for ease of access and easy removal you really need to look at the top @Ruptured Duck is making/selling.

If you give me a 1/4" impact with a -t-40 and a t-27 I will strip any SS's plastics off down to the frame in less than 30 minutes... If you give me an engine hoist and a 10mm, 13mm, 15mm, 17mm and 18mm socket for the transmission bolts. I can have the engine out pretty quick... If you have a turbo I would need a little extra time and an additional 1/2" wrench and a 1" wrench. And a screwdriver to remove hose clamps.....

Maybe you should meet Slingrazor, Bill Martin and me in Little Rock this weekend. You could help us change all three clutches! :D

Wife and I were out riding today and planned to make it a long ride on a beautiful day. However, the clutch was beginning to burn almost every time I took off. Looks like the SS will have to sit until Friday when I ride to Little Rock to meet up with Bill Martin and Slingrazor. We are going to be changing all three of our clutches next weekend. Have the new Spec Stage II waiting in the garage. Really looking forward to having a seriously strong clutch. Ordering my new Nitto 555 G2s tomorrow also. Will have them on for Maggie Valley.

Ok guys. This is a copy of an email reply I got from Polaris regarding my side panel and hood panel replacement parts that they agreed to warranty. Maybe this will help:

@dangerdarrell Great THX. Tomorrow I fly to Dubai and have a meeting with their local dealer....not about my problems but I'll talk also about the poor European Service. After my return I give the local dealer the chance to clear the case but I'm afraid that I won' be 100% satisfied...in case that this happens I'll try your phonenumbers. ...is there also a email adress availible?

Difficult to find on the phone and my wife and I are at a restaurant right now. I'll see what I can find as soon as I get home and get back on my computer.
