For me keep the fin with a forward swept wing. I think they would compliment each other shape wise. Like a fighter jet. @kev
Don't know about a flat deck for me although I do think you would sell some for sure. I think you have two types of customer there. Some like body kits with all the bells and whistles. While some may just want a wing and not want to mess with the body. A bolt on wing is a lot less intimidating than a body kit to some people. My 2 cents anyways. Always willing to help a fellow Canuck out. Hopefully this pans out for you.

I totally agree I think a wing like that on a flat deck your going to look at it and say it needs something in front of the wing. So either leave the fin or ya cut it down a little. Of course leaving the fin and just doing a wing would make it more affordable to the masses. Especially if it mounts up without drilling any holes. Lots of folks don't like drilling into their slingshot. So if it could come off the roll bars or out of the tail fin light hole without having to drill visibly into the body will appeal to even more people. Centrally mounted on the tail fin would look badass. @kev

@Slingshot Garage I agree totally on all points,

@Slingrazor glad to hear Im not the only one who finds that fin a little too tall or overbearing. And yes starting with an original deck cover would be the way to go when fabricating a new male plug , now I guess the question is which is most desirable, the existing fin with some sort of @ slingshot garage forward swept wing or an entire new rear deck with a much smaller fin or no fin, incorporated into a new forward swept wing . Maybe a one third height rear fin blending into a forward swept wing at that height ? feedback please. @WOLF @Bil Martin @DKF Texas @jorgebri60 @mniron @MACAWS Tripod @BONES @Neosolidus MBMedic @Painter @sideseatdriver @FunCycle and anybody else please ?

This is one of the sets that TricLED imported from Canada that I was able to get my hands on. TricLED gave up on these as they could not reach an agreement with Verika. Although I hate the term "Batwing", I do like the design.

well that explains it , I am familiar with Verika but had only seen fenders on their site to date . I think it looks pretty sharp with the Corbin, I wonder how it would look without them ? And I too despise the term, and for that matter (IMHO)anything that represents such a fine vehicle as a Batmobile does a disservice to the Slingshot , so not sure how much I would like it without the corbins

    heh

@mniron and @ painter so is that red rear wing in the teaser image in existence or is that a photoshop idea ,is it tjhe one referred to as the wing from hell ?

sorry @Slingshot Garage i just got back in from shop . That is a cool wing and yes Ive been trying to come up with a cool design for one for a while. But I,m thinking the forest for the trees thing had me stuck on a lower wing as filler but now this looks interesting too !

@kev, you got the front done yet? :D Not that we're waiting or anything! 8):whistling: :saint.

@ShatneymanIf it makes you feel any better, I havent slept yet, my mind is just swimming with that front end, forget who's suggestion it was , but I think I can maintain that look and offer it in a three piece, So the people who are happy with their spoilers and grill look can just add the right and left as filler pieces Or purchase all three to change that whole moustache look .
or maybe it may have to be two versions one, in that three piece and the whole other in a one piece if I cant make it all flow seamlessly together.
How the hell did I ever get myself thinking about this before M.V with the work load I still have on my plate until then ! fragglerock!

    AND, we have cookies!!! :D

HA HA HA and @'Guardian_Angel 'today posted a response where we were laughing about threads going astray and making that difficult for newcomers and she said "And yes, its a very bad habit of ours as a group to be professional derailers!" and in response I was thinking to myself, like it was only a month or two back I was new to this forum and I was having trouble searching stuff, then I thought , can you imagine some poor newcomer just tuning in this week as he heard about some gathering in the smokies , so he searches SSITS , if he read the most recent one hundred posts on SSITS the only info he would have frustratingly learned here, was some woman has great cookies! so great people will babysit for them ! lol.

@rabtech please don,t take offense, but a newbie in the vendor world, a mere peon, a still wet behind the ears little turd, is rating your work !

While new to the Slingshot forums world , not exactly new to business, so watching my advertising dollars and analysing my options is not a bad idea.
So I've enrolled in two forums as a vendor (here and the dark side) and have been monitoring the differences.
Don't think its going to be any surprise to y,all ! So here it comes.
48 hours ago I started a thread I thought was properly titled to attract attention "THE NEXT MOD,,,,WOULD YOU BE INTERESTED IN A FRONT END LIKE THIS ? "
And after participating in your forum for over a month I wasn't surprised with the results from both forums , any guesses ? remember they have five times the membership !

Not even close !! here's what happened in the first 48 hours before the thread went cold.

    twelve hours after posting...

Rabtech,s site - 330 views,32 replies . resulting in four serious inquiries and much constructive criticism and discussions.
The Dark Side - 162 views, 5 replies ,two resulting in serious inquiries but really only one because the other was a very welcome polite duplicated posts there as well as he had already responded on RABTECH,S SITE and we are following up in conversation, and I am very anxious to work with such a notable project , twin turbos etc.

48 hours later... both now equally cooled

Rabtech,s site - 546 views, 36 replies now resulting in five serious inquiries and much constructive criticism and discussions
The Dark side - 239 views, 5 replies and no change

    FINAL GRADE-

    Rabtech,s site - A++
The Dark side - Still to be determined

Rabtech,s site - An absolute pleasure to deal with and I bet he,ll be the first to say, "it takes more than a good administrator to make a forum great ", You Guys Rock !
The Dark Side - no comment

OH AND @Guardian_Angel your post above really hit home with me, and you couldn't have said it better, after just recently becoming a forum sponsor here and on the dark side , I cant tell you how many hundreds of posts I've read in the last few months but I can tell you as a newbie, researching posts can be dauntless at first to a newcomer , just imagine entering exhaust fumes in a search engine when your new and getting numerous results, many of which when you go to them have been hijacked or wandered off topic with personal discussions going every which way but the one your researching , it can be very difficult and impossible to find accurate info without help , so yes what makes this such a great forum, once I found my way around was the fact that so many of your members are considerate, and Gentleman ) like @Tripod (lol) helped me out and saved my bacon more than once ! So please, and thanking you all, please keep it up.

heh @Goats_Hogs @Guardian_Angel @Slingrazor@MACAWS @airoutlaw and others, with regards to exhaust fumes mentioned above , I am anxiously awaiting somebody with a known exhaust smell problem to try my new windshield and/or my roof as well. We,ve designed our arched windshield with an additional 10 degrees rake(recline) in order to better streamline the airflow over it . The low pressure area behind a windshield can be affected by the amount of vortices (turbulence) it causes to be created as the airflow breaks over and around it. It is our opinion the greater side to side arch as well as 10 degrees more slope will have a positive impact on reducing those vortices and consequently, the low pressure area behind it. As well our roof has an aerodynamically correct leading edge to improve airflow under it as well . With my normally aspirated demo bike with a stock O.E.M muffler, exhaust fumes are not noticeable to me, maybe because Ive always been so exposed to them throughout my careers and being non sensitive to them , I just don't notice them or maybe without the turbos etc they are not as big a problem, but we,re hoping our design has had a beneficial impact on them. I know it certainly has had on wind noise and airflow discomfort.
My windshields take only two minutes to install as they use the factory mounting system and if any of you have noticeable exhaust fumes and want to experiment I will have a loaner at M.V anybody could try for an hour or two. I,m positive the comfort level is better than with other taller windshields as well but would like opinions from experienced guys whether they make a difference there too. Also my roof only takes two minutes to pop on as well as it is just a wedge fit down between your roll hoops, so I,ll have a loaner for that too. If it's something anybody wants to consider trying please respond. The production molds are now being made as the plugs shown below performed very satisfactorily in road testing . @kenny_h will be picking up the first set from me there to perform some serious longer term testing but I will have quick mounted loaners available too for anybody wanting to try one out , hopefully, specifically , with a known exhaust fume condition for comparison purposes.

@kev We are interested in what you come up with...I would be painting my own if that will help drop the price a bit.

yes @Slingrazor actually we do offer all our products in a sandable grey gelcoat version too , it certainly saves us cost, as the base, clear and usually tri coat colors that Polaris uses can be a bitch, and then of course there's water sanding and buffing too , so if you have ability or access to paint you certainly can save some money there.

Guess I will be the odd man out... Too much front end... Still the same problems with ramps, parking curbs, small animals...

I like the open wheel look... Would like to see a round or squared out lower nose with maybe half spoilers about mid height of tire or just slightly lower...

now that's an interesting thought too, do you mean mid height instead of lower spoiler or in addition to lower one ?
