Well against wife's wishes I broke free today and took a spin down the road and back. Can't wear a helmet with the neck brace and can't look left or right but can see straight ahead which is good enough lol. Felt good to get up and go. Left a little rubber on the road and came back with a grin. Best medicine I could have. Now 4 more weeks till Dr. Check up to see if I can get this brace off and start enjoying the ride.

All the best FunCycle

EjFord so far so good. Still in neck brace for another 3-4 weeks but it's getting easier to sleep in this thing now.

Gooseman, I'll agree with you, up to a point. If it's a tool that is something I'm going to use once or twice a year, or less, I'm not going to buy something high priced. A lot of the time, I'll try to borrow/rent it, but sometimes that's not feasible, and I'll hit up harbor freight or ebay for something cheap.
All of my ratchet/socket sets are older craftsman before they moved to China. If I need another socket set or something, I'll research to see what I can find. It may be a used set of Snapon, but we'll see. I agree with Bigdog about something like the breaker bar, it's not something I would use that often, so I can't justify buying a $50 one (no clue what a quality one will cost, just throwing out a number), and will grab a $10 cheap one.
In searching for a good set of t-handle torx recently, since our SS have so many of that, and I only have sockets and smaller ones in a allen style wrench, I found these : Eklind 68688 8 Piece 6" Series Power-T T-Handle Hex Key Set with Pouch Torx Sizes: T8 - T40 that state they are made in the US, but their warranty (per their website) is not a no questions warranty, and they only sell these types of tools. I'm going to order these eklind though, give them a try.
To each their own...
so what you are saying is you would try to save $40 on a breaker bar that literally is used with extreme torque to "break things loose" and risk a knuckle buster or possibly bashing an elbow. Shitty screw drivers are the same. Don't fit the head properly and will twist and strip the head. I will stay with my quality tools and pay what they are worth and stay away from the box store brands

Actually FunCycle I wouldn't be to surprised. Been around for a few yrs and worked in the local union for many yrs traveling to different work sites seeing all walks of life in many trades. Some days you would see things that were just unbelievable that the person was still alive lol . Not saying I have never done stupid things but as I have aged I believe I have gotten wiser and think about how this can hurt me before I do.

Most retail tools are guaranteed but your looking at this totally wrong. I use tools everyday for work being a millwright. I will admit I have a few off shore one offs for quick non intrusive work but to look at what you did and break that bar let's go one step further. The bar is warranted for replacement but what would you do if you were to hit your elbow when it broke and ended up breaking it. Off work for weeks, possibly medical bills etc etc. Save a few dollars to buy shit tools and possibly put yourself in harms way. I literally have thousands in snap-on and a Canadian brand called Grey and yes I have broken a few items but I can honestly say it was because I was using them for shit they weren't made to do. Just my $.02 worth

I am quite sure that 99% of the time anyone posting in the political thread is laughing as they hit the reply button. It's a good read to brighten my day

Seen this on our local Canadian news channel and it was very emotional to watch. True hero in my eyes

I had a similar style on my original seats for the first year and they worked good. Got rid of swamp ass. Rather comfy too, no complaints about them. They did wear the seat some and when removed you could tell they were on the seat. The colour was worn from the plastic some where the beads made contact

I disagree - if you don’t want to read political posts just block the thread. Many of us here enjoy the political banter and even though there are political disagreements it is always respectful. Politics Sucks is one of the longest running, biggest threads on the forum and enjoyed by many. Just because you may not like what others are posting politically they should not be suppressed - you should just avoid the thread. I can see as a Canadian where you would have no interest in out politics - just don’t look !!!
As a Canadian I find it funny as hell to read some of the banter on the politics. Our side is no different. I fully believe that both sides need work on the political front. Trump or Trudeau? I don't agree with belittling any member whether you think they need it or not. Keep the thoughts to yourself and move on don't lower yourself and become one of them. Trolls will be just that looking for an argument. Let's get back to good discussions and a few good laughs and enjoy what brought us here. I lost interest in posting and contributing to the forum for awhile due to the constant bashing I was seeing and also the way my body was feeling before my surgery, just couldn't get into it but now feeling better and want to get back into it but want a friendly atmosphere to come back too. Cheers Gooseman

Well I got the call for my neck surgery for 10 am Wed morning. Dr says 6 hr for surgery and in that time I am getting 2 new titanium disks and 3 vertebrates shaved down to relieve the pinching pressure on my nerves. Hopefully this will be the end of my constant pain. 6 weeks in a neck brace and a few more weeks after that before I believe I will be able to take the slingshot for a ride. Was hoping to get down to Maggie but that's off the books so going to do my best for the Poconos. I hope to be more active on the forum and get back doing things when I get feeling better. Hopefully be back on here in a few days and catch up on the latest. Till then cheers Gooseman

Well folks I hate to say it but we won't be attending this year. I have to get surgery on my neck. I have been battling constant pain for awhile now and I finally have had all the tests and appointments and the dr has given the word to let's get this done sooner than later. I was hoping to get in this week but no go so that puts the recovery time past Maggie. I am having 2 new disks and the c5,6,7 vertebrae shaved down from pinching my spinal cord. Dr says 6 hr surgery and I should wake up without the constant pain. No set date yet for surgery but hopefully in the next few weeks. I was really looking forward to getting away again but hopefully I can plan another event possibly Pocconos looks promising. Anyways there will be a room available at the comfort inn as I am cancelling ours.

Don't forget the 13% sales tax

I will always have an 8ft box. Yes a pain to park but it's a truck. I have a 2015 Ram longhorn with the full 4 door and it's close to 24 ft long and love having the room to put tools and equipment in the box and being able to close the tail gate

Thanks Zach for giving back to our group!
