I am looking at some after market rims, and the specs have me a little confused. For the bolt pattern, multiple sites read "5x4.50/5x120". An example is pasted below. I understand that 4.5 equals 114.3mm -- what I need -- but how can that also be 120mm? I am thinking it may mean there are 2 versions, but need to make sure before I order. Of course very few rim sites have a configurator for Slingshots

    Appreciate any feedback.

    Thanks

I've got them and love them. I had the Cycle Springs guys install them. For the research I did this seemed to be a big piece of the issue - not that the guys who installed their own were doing it wrong but more that those who had someone install them who had done dozens had better outcomes. The drivers side is a little glitchy but once you figure out how to give it the upward pressure to close it it's no problem. The bags are beautiful and really help to finish off the back sideck that the Polaris designers gave up on

My install was easy, the latching should be MUCH better, but I agree with you that a love them. Have not popped open, as the early issue, and I can wrap the inside bags in a garbage bag if needed. Should I, no, but best option.

Sent from my SM-G955U using Polaris Slingshot Forum mobile app

@McClendons - you might want to verify if the 2" Welter will work with the SC - it may be to restrictive on the exhaust. I had to change the baffles on my 2.5" Welter to lessen back pressure.

I did reach out to Dave at DDM works, and he said he would need to ship with a larger pulley, which of course decreases boost a little. Think he said It would drop to 250-260 in another post. I am after some more power, but also want reliability, so I am Ok with a little less boost if needed *now, who knows, it never ends....)

For DDM Works, if you see this, Cycle Springs is ordering a SuperCharger with red tubing for me. Mine has the Welter 2 inch stealth cat back (using Cat) and a 1320 header.....I told them to order the supercharger for a 2 inch exhaust as we'd e-mailed about, anything else that would be needed? Would I need the center feed fuel rail? I have the surge tank, but did not do the steam reroute. Is that needed? As mentioned, I am not out for race, but want reliability and a little more power....

    Thanks

Thanks for the recommendations. Ordered the SuperCharger from Cycle Springs this morning. In a month or 2, should have it on! They definitely knew what they were discussing, obvious they've done a few....tended to be turbo fans though. I did not think I would move from NA, so I'd installed a 2 inch Welter Stealth, the supercharger gives me the opportunity to keep the exhaust with a little performance loss due to larger pulley on the supercharger.

RD and Slingmods......I apologize if I came across as critical of Slingmods, I was throwing in a customer view to the last Slingmods post. If they are going back and forth to "get that turn around time down before we do the group buy", that takes time. My thought, we order now and the total time is similar (or less). If I was wrong, sorry, just replying to what I thought to the post indicated. I understand business decisions, just did not really think that is what Slingmods was saying.

I agree FULLY with pay up front. Have been involved with multiple group buys over the years, including leading a couple, and peoples' "yes I am in" are fickle over time, and even worse when $$$ are on the table. I do not want to go direct because I put my "yes" on the table, and fear it would screw Slingmods if too many walk away.

Thanks for Slingmods on this....it is less about a good price and more about getting one. It may be the vendor just does not want a group buy, and I can call direct once a decision is made, or would preferably order though you with an agreed wait.....you have done nothing by right with me, and I have a ALLOT of your stuff on my machine.

Does anybody know a good hope in FL, near Tampa / ST Pete, that could do a supercharger install? Was planning on Cycle Springs, then they sold Slingshot Only. Have not had a chance to talk with them about doing one, but probably less enthusiastic if they do not all the supercharger as well.... Too lazy to do myself if I can avoid, although looks straightforward.

Dave, I sent a note through "contact us" as well on your site. I put a 1320V1 header and Welter Stealth 2 inch exhaust on my slingshot, thinking I would not go beyond NA. I'd read all the issues with blown engines, but am now seeing the reviews of your supercharger, combined with the improved performance of just a better exhaust with a cold air. Am now really thinking Supercharger.

Would your supercharger work with the Welter Stealth 2 inch (vice 2.5) and 1320V1? I know I would be down a little power because of the back pressure, but reliability is number 1.

Also, are you coming to Daytona Biketoberfest or anywhere else in FL? I like in Tampa/St Pete, and am looking for an installed solution......while I could install, old age makes it easy to pay an expert.

    Thanks.

    @MACAWS

Not yet, still going back and forth with them on the T harness group buy.. The trouble part is the T harness they keep it as a made to order item, so usually takes anywhere from 3-6 weeks once the order was placed.. Trying to get that turn around time down before we do the group buy as I would hate to have you guys do a group buy and then have to wait a month or two to get the product..

Slingmods, Thanks for working this...and I am not trying to be a smartass.....but we are waiting now, and may still have to wait once we order. Suggest we press with a group buy and get them on order as quick as possible. Again, thanks and just mean as a suggestion. I agree with Macaws, many already have it installed and are fearful if a battery goes. I carry the torn to disconnect if needed... Thanks

Of course I am missing mine, and 2 weeks ago went down a sand road following a wetter truck for about 5 miles. Does not feel allot of stuff in there, but know there is.

Duct tapped up for the near term....

I placed an order online for the hood assist. Understand it will be a delay. Will the online order be serviced when they become available, or will I need to reorder in a few weeks? Just want to make sure I understand the ...."to sell". Thanks

I installed a Welter Perfromance stealth exhaust on a 2016.5 Sling a couple of weeks ago. I will note I already had a DDM Cold air intake, no other engine mods. At the same time, I bolted on a 1320 header (Version 1). Wanted to provide a few comments for those considering. Will start with the 1320 install first

1320 V1 HEADER: Seems pretty well made, not gorgeous to look at, bur FAR better than the stock manifold. Install was a breeze, I had no issue with the header not clearing the manifold studs, and in fact it was no where close to interference. I was a little concerned bolting it on, since you can't use a torque wrench, but it worked to well. One negative to the 1320, the bolt hole for the front top is too close to the pipe, and the bolt will not go all the way down. I cut a washer (to C shape), and slid it on so the post would make contact. 1320 should tack on a washer of some sort from the factory. Anyone with any mechanical skills should be able to do.

The Stealth Exhaust: I am VERY please with the system. Install was extremely easy, and went in just like their video shows. This was as easy if not easier than the header! Very well made. Sound may be a little louder than stock when sitting still, certainly deeper between the header and the exhaust. That said, when driving it is quieter unless you really get on it. As for exhaust fumes, I've noticed them once or twice when sitting at a light, and the wind was blowing the right way. They were not strong at all, and when moving I get nothing. I will note I have Corbin bags, so not sure if that will make it better or worse (my guess is worse, since it would collect air under the back end. Would I buy again, absolutely. Only change might be to go for the 2.5 inch in case I go turbo down the road, but not planning on it. I will also note, there is a significant smell for the first 100 miles or so, that then backs off. I would imagine that it is the oils burning off from production -- if you buy one, expect some smell up front that will get better. My 1320 actually smoked for the first 10 minutes or so......

For those wondering, I did my install with the Sling sitting on two ramps under front tires. It was a little tight moving under there, but it does not take too much space to wiggle the pipes above the frame cross members. If you had a higher lift, install would be a pice of cake.

How did the 1320 and Stealth affect performance: I do not have a dyno, but the way it revs is significantly faster. Combined with cold air I already had, the engine runs like it should have all along. I am debating the retune of the computer, but am already happy with the system. It also feels smoother, although that may be an artifact of the where the stock exhaust was, and its sound quality.

What could Welter improve on (and these are very minor!): I wish they had a ceramic coated version in place of wrapped. Living in FL, I am concerned the pipes will rot over time as the wrap holds moisture. No evidence that is the case, though. I wish they would provide written instructions. Their video is GREAT, but I had to go back and forth to the computer several times, when it would have been easier to glance at paper. So far, that is about it. I could have resolved the ceramic coating concern, but did not really think about it.

Would I buy these again, absolutely. I was not after a loud sound, knowing it was a 4 cylinder anyway. I think it is actually more pleasurable to drive, and can hear music much better when moving. Quality product, do wish it was cheaper, but understand that quantities are somewhat limited. Thanks Welter for a good product.

16 min of run time though.. X/
@Ross iPhone clips right to it. You view from phone, iPad

Every thing is a trade off, and half the price of a Phantom with similar capabilities (although you can get refers etc). Do wish it had a little more than 16 mins, but it is very small so..... Would not be surprised to see a "Pro" version come out soon. Also has more limited range, so does depend on what you use it for.

For those looking, the DJI spark looks very nice.............Good drone at reasonable cost, and looks EASY to fly

Want to make sure you are looking at the cable where it enter the latch from the front. The cable has a set of nuts, one on each side of the latch mount. Loosen the nuts, then screw the cable in some. A few turns make allot of difference. You probably do not need to adjust the latches themselves, only cable tension
