CDC just shut down domestic travel....keep your slingshot at home...no joy riding....Unless you have a reason for being out....

gonna be a depressing summer if I can’t ride....

It's always a joy to ride the slingshot to the grocery store to pick up necessities. :)

it’s not a good idea....you don’t know who has been exposed...symptoms take up to 14 days to show up. But you’re pretty much contagious right away....it only takes one to infect the whole town...brazenly walking around. Or at a grocery store..

I agree, but my observances were all within guidance. One or two people at 6 + foot distance. Many wearing masks. Just an observance that people are getting up and out instead of sitting at home watching outer people do things. Best practices need to be followed.

I'm sorry to say my Sling has been parked in the garage for the past few weeks, with the exception of an occasional errand somewhere in town, BUT, tomorrow, I have an appointment with Indian Motorcycle in Tucson to have my Slingshade installed... Yay! Pics will follow :)

Years ago I did some work out at the boneyard. Recall climbing Mt Lemon on my bicycle and then going into work for a 12 hour shift. Don't think it will happen today but Saguaro National Park was beautiful in its own way. Like that area!

Is it just my area? Typically I'm an active outdoor person. For years outside activity has been on the decline almost non existent. Lately with this virous and the lockdown (outside activity with social distance accepted) I have noticed a huge increase of people outdoors walking and enjoying the outdoors at acceptable distance.

That's a good thing. Physically and mentality good.

82 degrees today, I did get to put around 100 miles on the Sling today, just riding to nowhere special. Sonic was packed I sat there for around 10 minutes and did not get to order so I drove off.

Beautiful in South Jersey today. Sunny, clear skies 65 deg. Hade a nice ride. Took a picture but it didn't turn out well. For some reason I thought about Sonic yesterday and how they must be really busy as they are a drive in business.

My Slingshot hasn't seen much seat time in the last 2 years. My 2.5 year old son has seen to that. At the moment MY Slingshot isn't contributing to killing us.

We live in an enclosed environment. The oxygen that trees and grass emit does not drift into space and the Deep, deep cold of space doesn't penetrate our green house. With that in mind, the exhaust from factory smoke stacks, cars, tractors, motorcycles, boats... and yes methane(farts) and carbon dioxide(exhale) from the increased cow, pig, chicken(food farming), Human...populations is trapped in our closed off green house. Trees are the planet's largest air filters, we increase deforestation numbers every year to meet higher wood demands. We are adding increased numbers of bad stuff into the air every year and increasing removing more air filters. It blows my mind when anyone can't put that together and realize humans very much are causing problems on a planet changing, global scale.

Explanation over, please don't go back to your cave. However, it would be better for the Earth and it's future inhabitants if you did. :)

Hope I'm not drifting too much.

A good thing to do is to look for the Sustainability Forestry Initiative (SFI) or Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification on paper and wood products. These are certifications that the product is harvested and managed using processes in a responsible sustainable manner.

For the most part I agree. Green environmental choices and practices are well worth consideration. I weigh the good, bad, & economical factors when making a decision and that's a good thing. Sometimes they work, sometimes not, but I like the choice.

I would rather drive a Yugo than a Toyota

That coming from a guy that owns a Honda, GMC and Polaris

Actually I've never owned a Toyota but my wife has one and its a great car. Just wanted to install some comic relief. In my younger days Honda was not known as a well built car but they recognized that and really turned it around!

Anyway, wasn't the Yugo aka the thing? I'll bet that ugly thing is well sought after today. I actually saw one a few months back in really good condition.

Holy Moly! 1432 pages of gimmy! This is nuts! I'm listening to Pelosi right at this moment spewing her mouth about how this bill is the responsibility of the country!

Crazy, how can anyone defend this?

Great post! The last ten years of my career was involved in large scale food delivery on a continental and international level. Working between vendors, customers, auditors & field technicians. I have heard many times the issues you stated above. Loading livestock onto ships to be processed in China. Then the ships are loaded with the processed product on the return trip. Chicken cages placed above fish hatcheries allowing the fish to feed on the feces. Why? No regulation, cheaper costs, larger market share.

I stopped purchasing pork products from anything but known local companies years ago. China has been undercutting the United States for years. It doesn't stop there. China undercuts America on environmental levels. Same concept, no regulation, cheaper cost. Larger market share.

It bugs the heck out of me that politicians and the media totally turn there back on these issues! Yet point the finger and punish our own country! Why!

    Interesting.

Is there no end to the insanity? I thought the democrat's & republican's were in agreement on a stimulus package? Then Nancy steps in and feels the need to create her personal wishes to include things like wind & solar tax credits and emission standards.

I moved all my stocks into conservative funds and its still hemorrhaging badly. So far on paper I've lost a 2020 Slingshot "R" model and a 2020 Harley Road King (not that I was going to buy one or both but if all stays as is I could have but now have nothing). I'm sure I'll recover some but how much? It's a large part of my income. I've lost my spending money for a long time and I'll be burning up savings in other accounts while attempting to "catch-up" to comfortable levels.

Come-on congress, stop the political bull crap. Think about what this is doing to people and industries that create jobs needed for people to maintain a steady living.
