    wokka, got a solution yet?

You said the road was getting replaced, but then you said "mud clods." Assume you didn't mean "asphalt particles."

One thing you might try, especially on the textured plastics, is 91% rubbing alcohol. The tiny texture in the plastice will hold dirt and give the off-black color. A q-tip and 91% alcohol worked for me.

Yeah, they stripped it down to the base, so when I road, it was just gravel/mud and water after the rains, so it was mud clods.

I took some advice from others and cleaned with Lucas Oil interior detailer and Armor All leather wipes. I did that late at night on one of the seats and stored it under the car cover and left for a week. I haven't had a chance to unwrap and pull it into the shop, it was raining all day today, but I'm hoping all of my scrubbing paid off.

On another note, I did talk with a ceramics pro today, and he sells a package that you ceramic coat your paint, all plastics, and even the interior to seal against color fade, scratches and stains. He details the vehicle first and then coats it and warranties the work for 7 years. I'm seriously considering it, especially to protect the paints and prevent future staining. However, I'm going to do my best to never get it near mud again :)

Thanks for the ideas, will try that if the other products didn't deliver.

Shocks are a good question, I haven't felt the need to put them on my 2019 SS. It rides great (I think) and doesn't sway in sharp turns.

Is it possible I just don't care, or maybe Polaris has put better quality shocks on in the newer models?

I still want some adjustable with a controller, so just curious.

Thanks, I've called a few places and going to try another on Monday.

I did talk with one who didn't do high heat, but does paint and plastic/leather protection that I may think about doing. He quoted me $1k for the entire slingshot, ext and int plus wheels and a 7 year warranty.

They detail, get a good shine, and then ceramic coat it to protect.

i agree with Mike in Victoria BC wholeheartedly, SOG needs to rethink how they are handling this and what it's members are going to gain from this.

I understand the need to screen vendors, but that needs to be transparent to the membership, or we are just getting your bias or favoritism.

I'm not saying that this is the case, but we don't know.

Ok, so you are classifying yourself as a business, but non-profit. If you aren't charging your members a due, then are you charging your vendors?

Since you have denied two vendors entry, I'd like details posted on all of the vendors, criteria, and all pertinent info on all of it please, the ones you allowed in and the ones you didn't and please be specific.

If you'd like that info kept in the members area of the SOG website, I'm ok with that, but you should be transparent. Again, personal info can be kept out of it, but you should let your membership know why a potential vendor was denied.

    Thanks

Well, is SOG a business or a non-profit that is promoting membership for owners?

I liken the SOG to any other non-profit that is promoting something for their membership. I'm a member of the National Speleological Society (caves.org) and have been for many years. We have all of of what I asked for available on the website for the members to download.

If you are a business, it certainly doesn't appear to be from the website, nor did you promote it as such when asking us to join.

I'm not trying to be controversial at all, I'm just asking questions and want the SOG to succeed (as far as what I understand the goal is), which is to promote the SS and it's owners.

IMHO, you should be 100% transparent in everything you do. The only reason you should not be is to protect someone's personal information, other than that, all meetings, data, rules, etc should be posted, at a minimum in the membership area and I'm asking you to do that, as one of your members.

As members, we should have input in some form to the decisions and direction that the SOG is going, either through direct voting or through voting in new directories for the board.

Thanks Ross and as a member, I'm requesting that you post that info, at a minimum, to the members section.

Are there any meeting minutes or agenda's that can be reviewed for the members?

Transparency is key to your membership and potential new members/vendors.

I realize SOG is new, but giving the membership this info is key to your continued growth, and if you can't provide it all right away, we understand, but an ETA would be important as to when we could get that info.

Lastly, is there a charter or constitution that lists all of your by-laws, policies and/or rules?

    Thanks!!

I'm planning on getting something strong, like Lexan and manufacturing a box for my front camera. It'd be nice to get something that would fit into the front that looks like part of the SS and embed the camera, without modifying the structure of the SS itself. I may have to look around at the front body modifications and see what I can come up with.

MACAWS, on the image of your front camera, you had it mounted on a mod, what is that called, if it's not custom made for you?

Just let me know if they dont . From now on I will include a piece of cardboard to stiffen the bag. When the sun hits them they should lay out very flat. And they are the thick 4mil matte vinyl so they will last a long time.

Yes, overnight with a box on them worked well.

Cardboard backing or maybe even in one of those envelopes that are for pictures that say don't bend on it, if it's cost effective.

They look really good, and I have other stickers from vendors and such, gotta find me a good place to put them.

I don't like putting things on my pain, so was thinking about putting all of the vendor type stuff on the inside of the cab somewhere, will need to eyeball things when I get home.

Btw, I'm in Toronto this week, it's freaking cold up here... at least today the wind isn't blowing 40 mph... sorry, 60 km/h for the Canadians :)

I have my Welter dual exhaust on the way, Thanks kev!!

Does anyone know a place around Dallas, TX that does ceramic coating? I have no clue on pricing, but it seems that it would be good to coat portions of the exhaust piping, and my 1320 header. Especially places that are known to cause heat issues (near battery, firewall)

Any help or pointers would be appreciated.

Welcome! If you've been lurking, you know that the mod bug will hit you hard :)

Mine stays under a carport most of the time, while I have room in my shop for it, it would get in the way of too many projects, so it's only in there when I'm working on it.

Upon advice found here, I bought one of these : Budge Rain Barrier Car Cover Waterproof RB-2

Budge makes all different kinds and thicknesses. I mainly got this one to keep the dust and moisture off of it that can be blown into the carport.
