All I see online for TuffPak are hardened cases. Are you sure that is the material name?

Was at GRP today. TuffPak is the name of the material. It is some type of poly carbonate material. I will post a pic of the invoice once it's done. I should pick it up next week when I'm working near there.

I have installed a MadStad windshield and now it is time for a ram mount or something to hold my phone. I have read some older posts on the subject but would like to hear some fresh thoughts on the matter.

I would like to mount the phone holder directly to the windshield bracket. I also would like to clean up the wiring and not have a wire hanging across the cockpit to the glove box.

Just looking for some thoughts from this community of what some people have done. Thanks in advance for all your help and input.

It's been years since I had the windshield made, I might even have it spelled wrong. If I can ever stop mowing, I will head over there to get it made. These people are so good to me, they will let me back Sling right up to shop and let me dry fit it before I leave with it. They don't even charge for the fab work, just the material. I go to these folks all the time for lawn mower belts, hydraulic hoses, and anything plastic, plexiglass, or otherwise.

Alright Mitch. This post will change your life and make your dreams come true for sure.

Don't ask me where in the hell these guys get these cars.

I have spoke with them on occasion. Really nice people. Real down to earth and not jerks on the phone.

They actually make time for you. They remind me so much of Dave@DDMWorks. Same service.

I almost pulled the trigger on a Satellite this year but I'm waiting. It wasn't a Roadrunner.

They will ship right to your door.

Mitch TheWickedReaper is in Hendersonville Tn and maybe can shed some light on them.

Their inventory moves really fast. Especially Mopars.

I am getting ready to have one of these made. Luckily somebody from this forum was kind enough to give me the pattern. Thank you so much and you two know who you are. They actually did all the work. I am going to get one made out of TuffPak which is similar to what Nascar windows are made of. Guys if you have a General Rubber and Plastics near you, they can make this stuff if you design the pattern so so so cheap. They once made me a windshield for a Vetter motorcycle fairing out of TuffPak for $22 when the windshield was $130 to buy. As soon as the weather changes and my work slows, I am going to get this done and I will post pictures and invoices.

Kinduva long range SS project going on. We have been scouring the Blue Ridge Mountains in SW NC for a house. We have narrowed it down now to the Waynesville -Maggie Valley area. Was there yesterday with the leaves changing and 100’s of bikes buzzing around enjoying the cool fall weather. If everything goes according to my plan there will be one helluva SS house warming party come next years Maggie Valley Rally. Talk about stockin up on fine Kentucky bourbon (plus now moonshine) plus good cigars - details in the works....:00008235:

I can't wait. That will put you a stones throw from me. Great riding all over this place. That's for sure.

This is not the last time I will say this, it's just one more time I say it and I will continue to say it:

The Slingshot is only half the fun. The other half is all the good and patient and HELPFUL people on this forum.

That is what truly makes the Slingshot experience what it is.

I agree with Rab. Screwdrivers are poor quality. I have stood on a 15/16 box wrench when I weighed 400 lbs tying to get a spindle nut loose and it did not break. It was the Pittsburgh brand. I have been using those black air sockets there for years. I did just recently buy the t-handle allen wrench set. Can't judge them yet. Everything I have taken loose on the sling with them wasn't tight anyway.=O=O. When I changed windshield, I coulda turned bolts with my finger.

I had the exact same thing happen on a brand new mower. I realize that big white beast is far from a mower but the same applies, I put in new fuse holder and have ran it for years without issue. Fuse was bouncing in and out and arcing. Glad you got it repaired.

FYI. Lawnmower shop burnt me for a battery and a stator before I found problem. A**holes.

Here is a hint for anyone doing an install. The first time you crank it up, of course there won't be any oil in the lubed parts, so disconnect the harness on the coil packs and turn the engine over for 10 - 15 seconds. This will get the oil pumping well!

I even do this when changing the oil, just to make sure my turbo has oil in it after things have drained.

This is the reason I will never leave this forum. You just can't get this kind of input anywhere else. Thanks wokka. I would have never thought of that.

Waiting with money in hand. Haven't told wife yet but I'm going to do it anyway.

I have been with the little woman for over a decade. Asking for forgiveness works much better than asking for permission. Not only that, the silent treatment you get after that will allow you to focus better while installing it.
