No disrespect or slander of Mr. Snickers will go unchallenged! He is a "snuggle snake" (constrictor), and not poisonous like the Copperhead clan.

This particular example is a 6-footer and technically should be Snickers Jr. His predecessor (a 7-footer who was particularly good at tree climbing) was gunned down in the neighbor's chicken coop when caught um... red handed stealing eggs from underneath the hens. ;(

Out with the dogs today, saw a discarded snake skin on the ground near the tractor shed. Cool! Went to grab it before the dogs could tear it apart - wondered at the time why they weren't fighting over this like they usually do...

This is Mr. Snickers, he's a black rat snake and he strangles and EATS Copperheads. He posed for a nice photo, but he was getting kinda tense as you can see. Tried for a lower angle shot of his handsome face, but he said "No!"

I'd love to have a life-sized hood ornament EXACTLY like him for Ruby, but I don't think he would be keen on posing for a sculpture. =O

I used their contact us form to ask about cost so I can figure out how much I need to free up on my credit card.

wokka sent me the price in a PM... (I offered dinner at the ranch after Eureka Springs as an incentive)

Without ruining the mystery, let's just say you could boost your sling, and do the same for a couple good friends - and then buy everyone gas and travel to a real nice restaurant and buy them all dinner, too.

Any links for those newer "ribbon" led lights would be appreciated!

I have a heat shield from my 2019 SLR, very nice, it wraps around the whole back side of the muffler and has another shield that goes over the top. I took it out when I installed my ZZP header and exhaust.

If you are interested, PM me and I'll send you photos, etc. I'd let it go for a very reasonable price.

My previous SS, I had the Alpha headers, CAI, and Variable Exhaust along with various other mods...

With the new Sling, I figured I am going to do more research (by research, ask more questions...^^) to be a little more picky on what I am going to add to the sling this go around.

With that being said... What makes one companies CAI and Header better than the other while providing a boost in performance? Would it be diameter of the pipe, the welding, or are they all pretty much the same and it comes down to finish and color?

The reason I went with ZZP header & exhaust

    1. 2.5 inch, stainless header, designed for turbo / supercharger duty should I decide I need more power later

    2. Race proven design. Kyle D did a pretty extensive thread on NA vs modded systems, adding one piece at a time, putting the sling back on the dyno each time. His precision and accuracy impressed me.

    3. The catless design. Stock system has TWO catalytic converters, both generating tons of heat AND restricting the flow of exhaust and restricting engine power. The ZZP system gets rid of heat, AND improves exhaust flow with larger pipes and fewer restrictions.

    4. The springless design. The ZZP header is a solid beast of TIG welded stainless steel. So solid that the muffler clamps right on with no other springs or clamps needed. Tighten ONE ring clamp (also beefy stainless steel!) and you are done. If you should ever need to remove the system, loosen the clamp (one bolt), pry the clamp open and the muffler comes right off. No special tools, wrap, filler, hangers, or springs needed.

The ZZP system is a marvel of engineering genius. No one else comes close IMHO, and the exhaust note is sexy as hell!

I have a CAI and welter duel exhaust but the stock manifold, does that screw Things up?

In terms of an ECU tune, you should be fine with your exhaust and CAI. CHeck with Kyle D to be sure, but no one asked me what exhaust I was running when I sent away for my tune.

The ZZP header & exhaust is what I got instead of going with Welter, or another company. Does much the same thing, just a different design.

LoL! I went exactly the opposite way!

Drove it stock for about 9 months, then I added a ZZP header, exhaust, and tune - about $1100 - wonderful performance boost. ZZP is a vendor here and Kyle D is a great guy - rock solid customer service and support after the sale.

I'll add the sway bar later, shocks last.

Why? Couldn't really see swapping out brand new shocks! I'll put some miles on 'em before swapping them out! (I'm a poor teacher, gotta pinch my pennies!)

Welcome to the forum, *love* your icon!

Don't listen to the whiners, cold weather is not a worry - especially if you grew up on snow mobiles! 🤠 As my dad used to say, there's no such thing as bad weather, just bad gear!

That said, I don't ever ride in the rain if I can help it - to each their own!

I have just added a Snailax heating/cooling ventilated seat pad b/c vinyl seats can be sweaty and clammy by turns - the SLR seats ARE very comfortable and supportive, just did a 1400 mile road trip over 2 days and didn't feel beat up after 11 hours in the saddle.

    Enjoy the ride!

I actually planned on this for my first mod... was surprised as hell to find I didn't need them! Manual said nothing about them, but they work great - visibility is excellent! I have no real blind spots unless I have someone directly behind & really riding my backside.

Welcome! Hope your ride is a great one!

Buy these- no really- get these. You will be so glad you did. I don’t consider this a mod, I call it essential. 🙂

Have to disagree with my pal SoCal on the mirrors - my 2019 has convex mirrors standard for both passenger & driver's side. 😉 But if yours does not, upgrade immediately. Mine have the 'objects in mirror are closer than they appear' etched on em.

Also took US 49 and US 40 from Fayetteville to Little Rock area & back today. Interstate & nearby surface streets were fine - no standing water at all. Not that there aren't problem areas, but major routes seem to be fine.

I did my first diff oil change at about 1500 miles using the Lucas 80/90 gear oil mainly to quiet the drive. The old oil was VERY iridescent with all the metal particles leading me to confirm that I needed to change the oil sooner than the manual recommended.

When I did the 2nd change at about 10K miles, there was no iridescence at all - ie no metal particles. At this point, I wouldn't change again until 50K miles or more.

    Thanks guys,

I knew what the manual said, but I also recalled that others here knew better. Looks like I'm about due for the change!
