I've built my fair share of NHRA approved 6/8/10 point cages, I know all about what you're referencing comparing to a lightweight aluminum roof, and I'm sure you've experienced far beyond what I've done if that has been your industry. I tend to forget that most in the Slingshot community don't know my background, a little more technical than some Slingshot product as it's only a very small portion of my business.

All good however, appreciate the clarification to onlookers. Dealers classifying a roof as a roll cage, I should expect such ignorance from some (not all) of the dealers I have visited in my journeys.

Having experience with chassis manufacture and certification I would urge you as a manufacturer of these products to reconsider making such statements and clarify that it is not designed as or intended to be a safety device.

    .

I'm no idiot, it seems every roof manufacturer has copied my disclaimer that I have sent out with every roof I've made since #1, merely stating that it's better than nothing, and can be quite rigid in certain instances

Bob and I both use sch. 40 aluminum tubing, nothing thin wall about that, the mirror mounts are also attached using M12 bolts with a shear strength combined outweighing that entire SUV. I agree it doesn't look the like car made it to the roof but that top would most definitely deflect the weight of that car in this instance. Considerably better odds than without it.

Spent the last two days fitting up the front bank/turbo manifold and got Travis on welding it out. No need for a fixture when you have spare parts =D

    No space left unused

Billet endtank for the inlet side of the intercooler through 1st op, almost ready for it's twinlet's

Once I had the turbo's mounted up, real estate started to go away quick, was a little worried about my decision to fit these turbo's in this space but after some stare downs and TLC, it's coming together F'n awesome!

Billet turbo hangers - not something you typically ever see on a turbo setup to this extent but this type of added support brings our manifolds and components to the next level of solid.

Basically always necessary but I hate cutting into brand new turbo's every time I do, compressor housings modified for proper fitment

Twin's up front, twin's out back!

I'm watching...... I knew when he came on as a vendor that the bar would be high......

He freaking makes jewelry with a CNC machine... :D

There's no bar, each should do to the best of their abilities and requirements, in building this stuff and buying it. Getting back to my roots with the custom setups and using the build along the way to develop new product. I'm always to the technical side so that's where we will lead!

This setup is completely custom just because, I don't plan to duplicate it honestly, another twin car would start from scratch if someone did want it. No one wants the same thing as another dude at this level I have always believed. Been building VW/Audi and BMW setups like this for years, less the CNC goods until the last 3 years.

Hey Shawn you put the wrong color valve cover on my engine?
I didn't want rab to see this until our next trip to Murphy

Beautiful work as always sir - just wish I could afford you!

You've spent a few pennies, you could if you wanted. =) Doesn't have to be to the extent of this one, my OCD'ness applies from the basics to the ridiculous! We gotta catch up sometime soon.

A twin setup will typically have more low end power and flatter torque/HP across the rev's. Won't have the top end spike/climb of a single. I also make a single setup, just doing something different here because we can =)

DUDE!!! THEY ARE PURPLE!!! I want them just because of that!!!!

All of those pieces and you like the purple injectors, figures! Hope all is well bud, long time no talk, how's everything?

Was attempting to keep this under wraps until complete but it seems the word is out so might as well capitalize on the advertising =D

    Basic rundown of components:

Twin Garrett GTX2860's, BB, 0.57 a/r v-band inlet/outlet exhaust housings, GTX billet compressor wheels
    Twin Tial MVS-38 external gates
    Tial Q BOV
    /FF/ Billet Intercooler
    /FF/ Billet Intake manifold
    /FF/ Exhaust manifold
    /FF/ Dual 2.5" downpipes
    /FF/ Rear exit exhaust
/FF/ E85 fuel system - Dual Walbro 400's intank on /FF/ billet hanger, 8an feed to rail, /FF/ billet fuel rail, Aeromotive A1000 fuel pressure regulator
    Haltech Elite Standalone
    Haltech IQ3 dash display
    Injector Dynamics ID1300 injectors
/FF/ spec high compression - 8,000rpm built longblock

In it's final phase looking for 600whp on E85, traction via Bob's Bullet Quad and a pair of 345's on the back. I'll update as we go - turbo setup, standalone, and fuel system will be going on 100% stock motor first to see where we can get, once it pops we'll swap out the motors and go back for more!

    Enjoy!

Shawn, is there a rough idea on cost yet and has anyone checked with Florida DMV on possible legality issues? thx

The Slingshot side of this build has nothing to do with me, you need to contact Bob and Bullet regarding quotes and info on the 4 wheel kit. I only supplied and installed the turbo goodies, had nothing to do with the rest. Other than ballpark $10k to start, that's as much as I know of the details on the Quad! Info and purchasing needs to be direct through Bob, sorry. You can call him @ 727-940-2922

Bob and I work together on a few behind the scenes things but the Quad is all him. He has a CNC bender that's needed for that type of tube work so I have him bend all of my roof bar sets, once last thing I have to worry about. Bob and I are very similar in how we think and we work, so we're a good team when we put our heads together! I think this Slingshot, front to back is a good show of this!

Hey Flybuddy, you have to make the trip to see Shawn in person. His shop is second to none. Stocked with all the finest materials and skilled techs to get the job done. His work is a work of art. His attention to details just blow the mind. The shop is also as organized and clean as any I've seen. Shawn is a perfectionist, but he takes the time talking to his customers on a "normal" level. You never get the feeling that he's too busy to answer your questions. Anything he makes, you'll be proud to own and show off to the world.

<3 Appreciate the love, I try to be modest, sometimes :D but yes unfortunately the OCD bug has me to the fullest extent. If it isn't perfect, it doesn't leave here, to the smallest details. Lots of Sling stuff out there that makes me want to cry! Ever in the area swing in sometime and say hello! Hope all is well with you and the family.

Excellent looking design and appears to be high end quality construction! Kudos! Really improves the appearance also eliminating the incomplete rear look. Not sure I understand the shock absorber system. Seems like the shocks would have been better placed where the long black rods are that go from frame to wheels. I'm sure there's a good engineering reason for the extra parts and work to place it where they did.

F1 style pushrod setup, just another way of doing things!

True, or it might conflict with a patten with Alpha's system so a different design was in order
Either way, a very sweet look

Bob had a 4 wheel Slingshot running around MONTHS before Alpha even had anything on paper. Not sure why people think Alpha is the leader on everything?

What did the dyno report @FFShawn?

We were just messing around with the boost controller mainly, has way too much fuel in boost, pegged the dyno sniffer and wideband at 10.0 the whole time. Undecided if we are going to have Bob tweak or switch over to Haltech, probably Haltech. Highest two numbers I saw were 279whp and 287wtq.

Looks Great. Love that front bumper too.

Is that available? Might have to look into that if anything 'happens' to mine, lol

It sure is, contact Bob and he will take care of you!

    Cost??

The Quad kit from Bob starts around $10k, and my turbo setup as shown is around $10k as well, has some custom adds outside of my standard kit, also using my waterproof boost controller/wideband package.

Was a pleasure working with Bob and the guys @ Bullet Concepts on this collaboration and can't thank them enough for entrusting us with adding proper power to their personal 4 wheel monster. Their Quad kit transforms the Slingshot into something you can actually drive to it's fullest at all times. The rear is always solid and planted, extremely predictable, and begs for some driver abuse! If anyone is on the fence about adding the 4th wheel, Bullet is most definitely your answer and worth every penny, you won't be disappointed!

Bullet on the outside with a Fab Factory heart, fabrication and machining at it's finest from all angles! Bob and I both share the OCD bug to the fullest!

Damn @MACAWS I know you want to be the HP king but this kind of butt kissing is making me sick... I need to go throw up... :D

I wish I had time for more play, I just let others have fun with my products it appears.

I am a professed horse power whore!
    What can I tell you.

Its is easy for you to be judgmental when you are the top dog.

Some of us beta pups want to get in the fight.

Nothing wrong with a little fighting for the title, I've got two strong contenders sitting in my shop right now, and they have traction =)

Damn, that Fab Factory stuff is legit... Now if only the e-brake covers and nut covers would go on super sale... Especially because the nut cover may not be useful unless there's plans to adapt it for the double nut fiasco...

I'll make you a deal on both covers, I just had the stuff down a good bit since Xmas time, just modified pricing this week. Email me, Shawn@Fab-Factory.com. Most everyone that has the Nut Locker has just asked dealers to retain the original nut after bearing replacements and continue to use my part. It does the exact same thing as the double nut, just not ugly =)

I know it takes money to keep the doors open. I don't blame ya for hanging on to it. I will have to keep what I have now. It's doing pretty good. It looks great though.

I was just curious.... did you ever dyno your setup and get some numbers on it. I know @Shack was driving it around but I never got to see how much power it actually made... If you took some video of it performing you should upload it to YouTube and post a link here

No never dyno'd it before he sold it, it was multiple lengths faster than an Alpha Stage 2 with my setup on 8psi and out spooled it by almost 800rpm. Not bad for a turbo that's 25-30% bigger. It's just flow, no biggie ;)

I still say you need to send me one of those. :-)

Just a few clicks and it's yours ;) Fab Factory Billet Intake Manifold

Free99 doesn't keep the doors open unfortunately!

If you've got the motor for it, my setup will do it. Smaller back housing that I use now will tap out somewhere near 600whp, then we switch to a bigger a/r and keep going =)

That header needs transition into the turbo flange, have never see the inside of one but assuming its not a radius or smooth transition from the body of the manifold into the turbo flange. I would start there, air can't make 90* turns, it does typically follow a smooth surface so the more radius and transition into the turbo, the better this header will be.
