Looking for input on this shirt. Any comment is fine as you will not be hurting my feelings even if you don't like it. But we do not have any slingshot specific apparel and I wanted to make something for the community. Let me know if you would prefer a short sleeve cotton blend T, a moisture wicking long sleeve, or even a moisture wicking short sleeve T? IF you feel so inclined, drop a comment on your shirt size as this will help me make sure I order more in one size than another.

    Thanks Kyle & gearhead!

Kyle, I talked to Chris at CBM Motorsports last night and he said to give ZZP a call about a new tune, or not. I did not realize that you guys were here in GR.

I will stop in this afternoon and see you (If your in the office) and we can determine the next step. Thanks again guys!

I will be here! Definitely stop by. I leave from 2-240 to pick my son up from school and drop him at day care. Aside from that I will be here all day.

to be honest I am surprised none of the vendors has offered the inserts - seems like they would pretty easy to make and I think more people would try the fenderless thing if the inserts were readily available

It’s on our winter project development list.

bigred Here is a link to our header and exhaust package https://zzperformance.com/coll…slingshot-exhaust-package If you have any questions you can email me directly at Kyle@zzperformance.com. You will not have to adjust your tune. In all of the testing we have done, the factory exhaust manifold and cat are not very restrictive and it will not make a difference in the tune since it is all speed density. If you want to hear a sound clip against the factory exhaust, you can hear it here

I have used cheap cycle parts a couple times just out of spite of going to the Polaris dealer near me that is terrible. The only issue with cheap cycle parts is they typically have long lead times on things meaning they don't have the part on the shelf and they're just ordering but are getting a good discount and are keeping prices lower than most of the dealers. I get 10-20% off from our Polaris dealer that I don't care for and cheap cycle parts still beats them usually.

However, since I hate our dealership and like to support people I know, I have been buying what little OEM parts we use from Scott Riley at Sport Rider in Wisconsin. The pricing is good and the customer service is always great. I would even pay full retail on parts because the pricing is good and Scott has always treated me very well. We met in Maggie this past year and we talked a lot and even borrowed tools from one another that we didn't have. He's a good guy. I have no stake in the game promoting him but I support good people who treat me well and he usually has the part I need sitting on the shelf. No idea if they have parts on their site but the address is https://sportriderinc.com/ and the phone number there is (715) 834-0244.

The other thing I found with checp cycle parts is that some of the super seeded part number aren't always there. I would use https://slingshot.polaris.com/…/#/s/POL/T15AAS%2fAAP//1/ which is Polaris's site for proper part numbers and then call Sport Rider to order it.

    yes and no

There is a difference between highway and city.

If that was all highway then you have one stat. If it’s both you have a combination figure. Which is what are computers are giving us.

Bigdog except for that part of this posting was people speculating the onboard computers may be off and trying to see what they are really getting. And they are off a bit for everyone but especially for anyone running anything other than stock injectors. The slingshot calculates fuel economy by injector pulse and it only knows the data for the stock injectors and that cannot be changed. Maybe if you know how to write code but I would need to talk to someone who does write code to see if it is modifiable but its unlikely. With that said, larger injectors pulse slower than the stock injector since they are capable of spraying more fuel. I've calculated how many miles I can go on a full tank doing all highway and I get between 100-110 miles out of a full tank which means I'm getting between 11-12mpg based on a 9gal tank. (Polaris I believe claims 9.77gal) City driving is around 8-9mpg. But I have 160# injectors which are almost 5x larger than stock so they pulse significantly slower than stock. Look below at what my gauges read. According to my cluster, I have the most fuel efficient Slingshot on the planet.

And just to make you all laugh a little, at the last 1/2mi event, I used 13.5gal of fuel and drove 27mi. That's 2mpg.

I'm right there with you Br4hm4 I've definitely noticed over the last year that the Slingshot FB groups are getting worse and worse. Sadly, it is part of my job to be on there and scroll past all the BS and help where I can to push tech support and hopefully get some sales out of it from the newer owners.

Nobody can show off their personal taste so show what their Slingshot is to them and what their style and likes are without a barrage of keyboard warriors talking shit and/or trolling. It's exhausting to say the least.

I feel bad when a vendor like kev will post pics promoting trak hamr kits and each thread becomes an onslaught of ridicule, put downs, and hate speech that goes on for days. It's like you cannot make a posting now without having the forethought to turn commenting off on it. If you do not like what you're looking at, keep scrolling and keep your negative comments to yourself. It may not be your vision but this is a free world and it is someone else's vision of what they want out of their Sling.

Welcome to the family! Make sure to check out the DIY section here. There is a TON of great info in there and you can see what things you may like to do.

LMAO!!!!!! laugh-squaredlaugh-squaredlaugh-squaredlaugh-squaredlaugh-squaredlaugh-squaredlaugh-squaredlaugh-squared I seriously just spit my drink out. Well played good sir, Well played. I had to put it back in. Bobby and my pit crew got tired of push starting me all weekend. grin-squared

Hope all is well with you also. Wish I could've made Bristol. If nothing else, I'll see you in Maggie next year brother.

Let us know if you can find the inserts. I tried to get some from @stylin, but no luck (couldn't figure out how to order them off their website and couldn't get a response from him so gave up). Did send a query to Zarate Steel Works that is doing some sling parts now, but they hadn't gotten around to developing the fillers yet. I really want to remove them and run fenderless (new fenders aren't in the budget for now), but need the filler to cover up the old bracket mounting point.

We will have them by spring. It's on our winter development list.

    1. Is it possible to use ODB to spot lean mixtures?

    2. If I do find it to be lean, what'st the next step? on NOS builds I've always upgraded fuel rail and injectors - can I tell if that has been done already?

    3. Is there a way for me to be able to determine which EFI MAP is being run?

    thanks much!

    1. The Slingshot does not use OBDII. It uses MEFI OS. The best way I can describe the tuning for it would be this, the OBDII tuning programs like HP Tuners are like a Play Station 4 and MEFI is like an Atari 2600. Things that take 5min to adjust in HP Tuners take 45min to adjust in MEFI. You can use MEFI to scan but the scanners and Slingshot adapter is like $370 if I am not mistaken. You can data log but I am not sure you can clear codes.

    2. If it is lean, it's potentially in the tuning. However, with that said, I have had 2 Alpha kits in here at ZZP and both were heavily on the rich side. To the extent that changing nothing other than fueling we picked up over 10whp if I remember correctly. If you want to check injector size, pull an injector and google the part number on the side of it. Both kits we had here had 60# injectors in them which most of the kits out there come with in my experience.

    3. I believe the Alpha kits come with a 2BAR MAP. Again, you can google the part number on the MAP sensor on the intake manifold and it will tell you.

As far as gauges, running a turbo kit without any is potentially dangerous to your engine. I would personally run the AEM Fail Safe Wide Band gauge. It monitors both boost and air/fuel on the same gauge and with real estate for gauges being scarce on a slingshot its nice it does both. I have been running one for 4 years and really like it. It also stores up to 3hrs of data although what you can monitor on the Slingshot is fairly limited compared to what you can see with things like HP Tuners. But it is less than scanning software and you can connect to the gauge via a standard supplied USB cable. We sell them here https://zzperformance.com/coll…m-wideband-failsafe-gauge I also have a skin that I could send you so the info you want is automatically pulled up instead of having to build your own setup.

As far as being hesitant to push it, detonation is extremely easy to hear on a slingshot. When making a pull, if you start to hear what sounds like a rattle or marbles dropping on a glass table top, that is detonation. Get off the gas if you hear that. using good premium octane fuel is essential for a boosted slingshot. If you get gas from places like Costso, Sam's Club, or some other non national discount fuel station, chances are you're likely getting shitty 93 that really isn't 93. Switch your fueling purchases to places like Shell, Speedway, Mobil, or BP. They typically all have good fuel all of the time. But it is still possible to get bad gas from any of them so you just need to listen and be aware.

Regarding the falling on its face doing a 2-3 shift, can you recreate it? If you can and can, take someone with you to fill and send me a video or a link to where it is posted I can give you my 2 cents. It would be helpful to see the tach while you're doing this. You can email me directly at kyle@zzperformance.com

If you are interested am sure Kyle D can give you more information about availability

I should have this combo back in stock in the next 1-2 weeks. We are also currently developing a few different rear exit exhausts that will work with our NA header and our turbo kit. I am trying to get 1 or 2 of the options ready for sale by Christmas but it may be spring depending on our manufacturing schedule.
